Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Single Goods Declaration in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Nigeria Customs Service.
  2. The address and contact details of the NCS can be found in the following contact link
  3. Visit the office and obtain an application form for Single Goods Declaration from the respective department.
  4. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form as required with necessary information and attest with your signature.
  6. Then, attach the documents required with the completed form and proceed to submit it to the concerned official at the Office for further verification and application processing.
  7. After submission, Customs department verifies the application form and other attached documents.
  8. Then, after successful completion of the verification process, the Customs Department issues the Single Goods Declaration.
  9. The application will be contacted through phone or email address regarding the collection of the document.


Apply online

Note: Online process is only for importers and customs brokers, not for exporters.

  1. To apply for Single Goods Declaration online, the applicant must visit the following application link
  2. If you have registered with the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal, you can enter the user credentials in the fields provided and click “Login” button.
  3. Otherwise, the person who wants to obtain a registration must contact/visit the Federal Inland Revenue Services office where he/she obtained the TIN and provide one valid email and mobile number, together with other company's identification details as per FIRS requirement.
  4. After that, he/she can visit the following link and make the registration: apply online.
  5. You will have to just enter TIN number, Email ID, text image in the respective fields and click “Validate” button.
  6. Follow the instructions and complete the registration, then the applicant must be proceeding to apply forSingle Goods Declaration by selecting the “Single Goods Declaration” option from the “Consignment” drop-down on the top.
  7. In the page that opens, click “Fill SGD” option to get the Single Goods Declaration form. The form will open.
  8. Complete all the sections with important details as asked in the form by following the on-screen instructions.
  9. Also, upload the soft copies of the required documents (as required) by following the on-screen instructions.
  10. After completing all the sections with required details, you can store them to the database by clicking “Store” button, verify the entered information using the “verify” button and finally, you will have to assess them by clickingthe “assess” button.
  11. At last, you can print the Declaration by clicking the applicable option.

  • The exporters are issued with the Single Goods Declaration as a hard copy or physical document whereas an importer or customs agent is allowed to generate it online.
  • The customs agent must have obtained his/her license from the Customs’ office where the goods to be exported are delivered.
  • Any applicant using the online application method, must have an access as the Community user in the Nigeria Single Window for trade,
