Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To get International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Vessel/Ship’sDestination Port.
2. The address and contact details of the Port offices can be found in the following contact link
3. Visit the office and obtain a pre-arrival notice to indicate the arrival of the Vessel/Ship, from the relevant department.
4. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form as required with necessary information and attest with your signature.
6. Then, attach the documents required with the completed form and proceed to submit it to the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO)at the Office for further verification and application processing.
7. The PFSO will take care of the further necessary processes and he/she will make adequate security provisions for the Vessel.
8. Once all the necessary are over, the applicant/ship agent will be issued with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) compliance Code, through any applicable means.

Eligibility

• Any Ship agent, whose ship/vessel is about to enter any of the Nigerian ports within the next 72 hours, can apply.
• All vessels must have the International Ship Security Certificate (ISSC) and a certified Ship Security Officer (SSO).
