Apply In-Person:
- To apply for obtaining a Community Radio License in person, the applicant must visit the office of National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria.
- Address and contact details of the Nigerian NBC can be found in the “Office locations & contacts” section of this page.
- Visit the office and get an application form to apply for a Community Radio license from the respective department.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
- Once completed filling the application form, attach all the required documents with the form and submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
- After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
- Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the license.
- When the license document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be sent an SMS from the office and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.
- After the issue of license, the applicant should pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Contact the office for payment procedure.

EligibilityEdit
- Any organization or enterprise, that wishes to involve in Radio Broadcasting on a Community basis, is eligible for the license.
- Any person whomever the organization appoints for carrying out the application process can apply.
- The applying entity must belong to the Republic of Nigeria.
FeesEdit
- Application fee: N50,000
- License fee: N15 million (Category A)
- N20 million (Category B)
- N20 million (Category B)
ValidityEdit
- Initially, a license under this category is issued for a period of five years.
