Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for change of address with the Canada Firearms Centre in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

  3. Visit the office of the RCMP and approach the respective official who is in-charge of receiving applications for address change.
  4. The applicant has to make sure that he/she has all the information listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The official in-charge will guide the applicant to complete the application process as required.
  6. The applicant has to co-operate with the official and do as instructed by him/her.
  7. With the information provided by the applicant, the official will complete the application process as required.
  8. After the completion of application process, necessary verification and assessment processes will take place at the office.
  9. Upon successful completion of these processes, address of the applicant will be changed accordingly.


Apply online

  1. To apply for change of address with the Canada Firearms Centre online, the applicant has to visit the following apply online link
  2. Visit the link and click “Sign in to access Individual Web Services” button. In the next page, the applicant has to choose one sign-in method from the two methods present.


  • Using GC Key
  1. To continue with GC Key method, the applicant has to click “Continue to GC Key” button.
  2. In the Sign in page, enter the user details in the respective fields and click “Sign In” button, if there is already an account for the applicant.
  3. Otherwise, click “Sign Up” button for creating a new account. Click “I accept” button and type an appropriate username in the next tab.
  4. Click “Continue” button and create a password for the new account in the next tab, then click “Continue” button.
  5. Create Recovery Questions, Answers and Hints in the next page and click “Continue” button. Click “I agree” button in the next page.
  6. In the next page, there will be two options to help verifying user’s identity. Select an applicable option.
  7. Once signed in with GC Key and have verified the identity, the applicant should create their profile in the Individual Web Services.
  8. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the profile creation. Proceed to sign in using the Username and Password.
  9. In order to change the address, click “License Holder” button. Application for changing the address will be opened.
  10. Complete the online application by following the onscreen instructions and providing the required information.
  11. After the completion of application process, necessary verification and assessment processes will take place at the office.
  12. Upon successful completion of these processes, address of the applicant will be changed accordingly.
  13. Meanwhile, the applicant can check the status of the application by logging in into their account.


Using Sign In Partner

  1. To continue with Sign-In Partner method, the applicant has to click “Continue to Sign-In Partner” button.
  2. List of financial Sign-In Partners will be displayed in the next page, from which the applicant has to select one in which he/she has subscribed online banking.
  3. Respective online banking portal will be opened, login into it using the user credentials.
  4. After logging in, there will be two options to help verifying the applicant’s identity. Select an applicable option.
  5. Once verified the identity, the applicant should create their profile in the Individual Web Services.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the profile creation. Proceed to sign in using the Username and Password.
  7. After profile creation, click an applicable button to change address of the Firearms license with the Canada Firearms Centre.
  8. Complete the online application by following the onscreen instructions and providing the required information.
  9. After the completion of application process, necessary verification and assessment processes will take place at the office.
  10. Upon successful completion of these processes, address of the applicant will be changed accordingly.
  11. Meanwhile, the applicant can check the status of the application by logging in into their account.


Apply through mail

  1. To apply for change of address with the Canada Firearms Centre through mail, the applicant has to send an application to the mailing address of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
  2. First, the applicant has to compose an application for change of the address with the Canada Firearms Centre, in writing.
  3. The application should contain full name, firearms licence number, date of birth, old and new address, updated phone number of the applicant and also the date of the move.
  4. Refer the “Required Documents” section of this page, for knowing the information required for the application.
  5. The applicant should choose a mail service as per his/her convenience and send the application to the following mail address: PO Box 1200, Miramichi, NB E1N 5Z3.
  6. After the application has been submitted, necessary verification and assessment processes will take place at the office.
  7. Upon successful completion of these processes, address of the applicant will be changed accordingly.


Apply through telephone

  1. To apply for change of address with the Canada Firearms Centre through telephone, the applicant should make an application through phone number of the RCMP.
  2. The applicant has to make a phone call on the following telephone number: 1-800-731-4000.
  3. An official who is in-charge of the address changing process will answer the phone. Inform him/her that there is a need to change the address in a firearms license.
  4. The official will need a list of specific information from the applicant’s side. Refer the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. With all the information provided by the applicant, the official will complete the application process as required.
  6. After the completion of application process, necessary verification and assessment processes will take place at the office.
  7. Upon successful completion of these processes, address of the applicant will be changed accordingly.

  • Applicants are advised to complete the application with absolute legibility and appropriateness with all required details and information, to avoid rejections.
  • Providing proper information also helps in avoiding delay in application processing.
  • RCMP will not be able to respond to email inquiries regarding application status.
  • If the applicant wishes to know the application status, he/she can call the office or submit inquiry by fax or mail.
  • In case of fax inquiries, the applicants are requested to wait for five business days for faxed information.
