Procedure

Apply in Person

1. To apply for renewal of stage carriage permit in New Delhi the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.
   
2. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices. Link for RTO contacts: Link for contact
   
3. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms And Parivahan Forms Link
   
4. Make sure you have completed respective application FORM for renewal
   
5. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
6. Please make sure that you are eligible for this procedure
   
7. Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
9. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, seating arrangements etc, will be carried by authorities.

11. Use the following link to reach the online portal for processing: Parivahan Link
    
12. When home page opens, user will have option to login or register into application.
    
13. If you are a new user, then use the registration tab on top of the screen to register. Just fill the prompted queries like name, email, mobile etc, and you will be authenticated for your email address to give user id and password.
    
14. Being a registered user, one can select login option provided on the top of the screen.
    
15. In the new page please enter the user id and password. Followed by “captcha” and hit submit to get the new page.
    
16. Here. Please select “Renewal of permit” under online permit menu to get the new screen.
    
17. In the screen given, please enter vehicle registration number, Last five digits of chassis number and registered mobile number then hit generate OTP.
    
18. Please fill in the received OTP in the given box and hit submit to get a page with information of owner and vehicle.
    
19. Now please follow the screen prompts as appropriate to finish the online process for renewal of permit
    
    

Appointment

1. As you process above procedure, there will be a list of menu on the left side of the screen and select “Appointment” option to get option to process.
   
2. Please enter the application number on the box provided to get information on details of applicant and others.
   
3. Please select the calendar icon next to “select date” to choose slot for appointment
   
   

Upload documents

1. Please select DMS(Upload Docs) option listed on the left side of the screen to reach new page
   
2. In the new page upload the required documents as prompted and hit submit to complete the document uploading

Required Documents

1. Completed respective application FORM for renewal
   
2. Valid Stage Carriage permit that is going to expire.
   
3. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
   
4. Fitness Certificate.
   
5. Proof of payment of tax for the current Quarter.
   
6. Insurance Certificate.
   
7. No object certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
   
8. Pollution Under Control Certificate
   
9. The resolution of the RTA
   
10. Route permits book, all in original.
    
11. Parking area certificate issued by any gazette officer/Police officer/Revenue authority of the area.
    
12. Recent copy of Map along with Form-F of the land housing the parking facility.
    
13. No objection certificate of the tenant if the vehicle is intended to be parked on the land of tenant other than the vehicle owner.

• Should have a valid stage Carriage Permit
  
• You should be the owner of the vehicle

Validity

• The renewal of permit can be obtained with Vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO
  
• Usually Permit is valid for 5 years. The age of the vehicle is also considered to restrict the validity of the permit

Need for the Document

• The stage carriage permit needs to be renewed before the validity of the permit lapse to ply the vehicle for the service.
  
• The need for Stage Carriage Permit arises with the requirement to operate trips in a route / area for carrying passengers with stages (Stops).
  
• The Stage Carriage Permit allows holders to service an area with a specific route. The permit also mentions the type of vehicle that is granted permission to operate, the approved timetable, the number of trips it can make in a day and standard rate of fare it can charge.
  
• No person shall be entitled to apply for the grant of a new stage carriage permit or for the renewal of a stage carriage permit, if the number of stage carriage permits already held by such person is not less than ten
