Apply In-Person
- To apply for a change of name in New Brunswick, the applicant will need to visit the nearest vital statistics office, find the address under the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.

- The office will prove a change of name package.
- The package will contain an application form.
- Fill in all the relevant details along with supporting documents.
- Submit the application form along with supporting documents to the Vital Statistics office.
- Once submitted, the application will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
- The applicant will receive their change of name certificate which can be collected from the office.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant must be a resident of New Brunswick for at least three consecutive months.
- The applicant must be 16 years of age or older.
- The applicant age 16 or older should never have been married.
- A parent who is legally a child guardian or in the custody of the child may be able to change the child’s name.

- If the applicant wants to change their given name: $115
- Surname: $130
- Child's surname done at the same time as parent's surname change: $65
- Duplicate change of name certificate: $20
ValidityEdit
The document is valid forever and does not need to be renewed.
