Apply In Person

  1. To Request for Regularization of National or Vacant Land, the applicant has to approach the Registro Agrario Nacional. link
  2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Notarize the transfer documents by a Notary Public (Notario Público) to give them legal validity.
  7. Confirm that the land in question is categorized for common use purposes and falls under the jurisdiction of the agrarian authorities.
  8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  9. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  11. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  12. The authority will review the application, verify the information provided, and conduct any necessary inspections or surveys of the land.
  13. If the application is successful and the land meets the criteria for regularization, the authority will issue the corresponding title or documentation recognizing the land's legal status.
  14. This entire process can be completed within 4 – 5 weeks or per the timeline the respective department authority advised.

EligibilityEdit

The applicant may be eligible to request for the regularization of national or vacant land in Mexico if you meet the following requirements:

  • You must be a Mexican citizen or a foreign national with a legal residence in Mexico.
  • You must have been occupying the land for at least five years.
  • You must be using the land for residential or agricultural purposes.
  • You must be able to prove that you have not been involved in any illegal activities on the land.
