- To Obtain Authorization to Start Construction, the applicant has to approach the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales. link
- Develop comprehensive project documentation, including architectural plans, engineering designs, construction specifications, and other relevant details.
- This documentation should demonstrate compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, environmental standards, and any specific requirements set by the competent authority.

- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Ensure that the applicant’s project complies with all relevant local regulations, building codes, environmental requirements, and safety standards.
- This includes considerations such as structural design, fire safety measures, environmental protection, accessibility, and others applicable to the applicant’s specific construction project.
- After a thorough review of the applicant’s project documentation and compliance with all regulations, the competent authority will make a decision regarding the application. If approved, the applicant will be issued the necessary permits and authorization to start construction in Mexico.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
