Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Approval of the Exploration Plan in Unconventional Deposits, the applicant has to approach the respective National Hydrocarbons Commission link
2. Evaluate the modifications in light of the regulatory framework established by the Mexican government for hydrocarbon exploration activities.
3. Ensure that the proposed modifications comply with the applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, including those set by the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH).
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.

10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
11. After considering all the relevant factors and information, the CNH will decide on the modification request.
12. They may approve the modifications as proposed or impose conditions, restrictions, or further modifications to ensure compliance and mitigate potential impacts.
13. If the modifications are approved, the relevant contracts, including exploration and production contracts, may need to be amended to reflect the approved modifications.
14. This ensures that the contractual framework aligns with the revised exploration plan.
15. This entire process can be completed within 4- 5 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
