Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for Tourist Omni Bus permit in Meghalaya, the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

3. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application Forms and Parivahan Forms Link
   
4. Make sure you have completed respective application form obtained directly from respective RTO
   
5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fee
   
6. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down under the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
7. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
   
8. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed. Important verifications for the permit include Vehicle condition, seating arrangements etc. will be carried by authorities.

2. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
   
3. Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
   
4. Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
   
5. Insurance Certificate.
   
6. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
   
7. Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or) Notary Public
   
8. Passport size photo-2
   
9. Pollution under control certificate

• Should be the owner of the vehicle.

• Authorisation Fee of Rs. 1000/-
  
• Composite Fee of Rs. 48000/-
  
  

Validity

• Permit is valid for 5 years
  
• The age of the vehicle is also considered to restrict the validity of the permit

• National tourist Omni bus permit is required to by the vehicle owner to use it for operating in Meghalaya and Other states for which composite fees are paid
  
• Mini bus means any motor vehicle constructed to carry more than 14 and less than 35 persons
  
• The need for Permit arises with the requirement to operate Motor vehicle which carries passengers for hire
  
• On a time basis with reference to any route or distance
  
• From one point to another
  
• One cannot operate his bus without this permit
