Apply In-Person
- To Renew Radiation Source License, the applicant should make the application to the Radiation Safety and Nuclear Security Authority (RSNSA) office. Please view the RSNSA contact details through this Contact Details.
- Obtain the application form from the RSNSA office or download the form through the RSNSA website Forms. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded directly via this Application form.
- The applicant should complete the application form correctly as instructed in the “NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS” section of the application form.
- Once the form is accurately completed, the applicant should gather and prepare all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the documents to the application form in a single file.
- Then the applicant should pay the application fee to the RSNSA either by cash at the RSNSA cash desk or by cheque and the cheque should be drawn and made payable to the Government of Mauritius.
- Upon making the payment the applicant should attach the payment receipt to the application file and the application file to the RSNSA Director at this address: Radiation Safety and Nuclear Security Authority, Royal Road, Helvetia, MOKA. The application may also be submitted to the Authority by email to the following address: [email protected].
- An official at the office will receive and check if the application form is completed accordingly and if all the required documents are attached. Note that incomplete applications will be not be processed.
- After the verification process, the application will be forwarded to the director for approval.
- The director will evaluate the application and if it meets the required merits for renewal, the application will be approved.
- Once the application is approved, a renewed Radiation Source License will be issued.
- Note:
- No license shall be renewed where payment is not made within 30 days of its expiry.

- A Safety Assessment Report and should outline the following information clearly.
- Identify any risk of adverse effects on people and the environment that may be caused by the conduct of the practice.
- Identify mechanisms to eliminate or mitigate any identified risks which may arise from the practice.
- Establish protection and safety.
- Measures and the radiation protection program that reduces the likelihood of an incident that may result from the conduct of the practice.
- Address any other matter that the Authority considers pertinent for the safe and secure conduct of the practice.
- A copy of the Business Registration Card (BRC). (applicable if the applicant is a registered company in Mauritius).
- A copy of the National Identity Card (applicable if the applicant is a citizen).
- Copy of the current radiation source license that needs to be renewed.
- copies of the first two pages of the passport (applicable if the applicant is a foreigner).
- Any other additional document request for by the RSNSA
- Note:
- Public organizations are exempted from this requirement.

InstructionsEdit
- An application for the renewal of a license should be made to the Authority at least 90 days before the expiry of the license.
- Where a licensee/ applicant fails to pay the fee before the expiry of the license, the applicant will be liable to pay a surcharge of:
- 10% where the applicant pays the fee within a delay of 15 days after the license has expired.
- 50% where he pays the fee within a delay of more than 15 days but less than 30 days after his license has expired.
