Apply In Person

  1. To Renew a License to Operate a Private Security Service Company, the applicant should make the application to the Commissioner of Police under the Mauritius Police Force. Please view the Mauritius Police Force contact details through this Contact Details.
  2. First, the applicant should call the Police Prosecution Office - Private Security Section through their telephone number on 214 1387 to book an appointment for the renewal application.
  3. Then the applicant should obtain the application form for the renewal from a police station or download the form directly through this Application form.
  4. Complete the application form as required and attach all the required documents as instructed in the application form or as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below in a single file.
  5. Then on the appointment date, the applicant should visit the Police Prosecution Office (Private Security Section) at the Sterling House, 10th Floor, Lislet Geoffroy Street, Port-Louis, to submit the application.
  6. The application will then be processed procedurally and if the application is approved, the applicant will be informed of the approval through his/her contact details and required to pay the license fee.
  7. Visit the police Prosecution Office (Private Security Section) and pay the license fee of Rs. 10,000 at the cash desk.
  8. Once the applicant pays the license fees, the license will be renewed and issued to the applicant.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Completed application form.
  • Two recent passport-size photographs.
  • Birth Certificate (original and a certified true copy).
  • Marriage Certificate (original and a certified true copy - applicable to a married woman only).
  • National Identity Card (original and a certified true copy).
  • A copy of the certificate of incorporation (if applicable) with names and addresses of the Board of Directors (original and a certified true copy).
  • A copy of a recent Certificate of Morality for all members of the Board of Directors (original and a certified true copy).
  • Original copy of the medical certificate as to his/her fitness to operate a private security service (name should be clearly written by Doctor as per NIC with NIC Number and for a married woman, maiden name to be inserted).
  • Original of Security deposited (when applicable).
  • Certificate as to his/her experience and training in the field of security.
  • Report that he/she has training officer/s for the training of security guards and Training Centre.
  • A written letter from training officer/s certifying that he/they will act as a trainer for the company with a copy of his/their Trainer’s License.
  • Development permit of the place of business from Municipality/District Council with mention that same is to be used for private security service provider (original and a certified true copy).
  • Trade Fee License (when applicable, original, and a certified true copy).
  • Site Plan of the place of business (applicable for new application).
  • A Photo of the General and close view of location and building (optional).
