Appy In Person

  1. To apply for a Motor Vehicle Dealer Licence (TP), the applicant should make the application to the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA). Please view the National Land Transport Authority contact details through this Contact details.
  2. Visit the National Land Transport Authority office and obtain the application form in person or download the form directly through this National Land Transport Authority website Application form.
  3. Read and complete the application form as required and then gather and prepare all the required supporting documents and attach the documents to the completed application form in a single file.
  4. Then visit the National Land Transport Authority office and pay the application fee at the cashier’s office as mentioned in the “Fees” section and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Upon the application fee payment, submit the application to the National Land Transport Authority official at the service desk.
  6. The official will check if the application form is completed accordingly and if the applicant has provided the relevant supporting documents.
  7. If the application is complete, the applicant will be issued with the acknowledgment receipt and the application will be forwarded to the National Land Transport Authority license officials for evaluation.
  8. The authority will assess the application and convene the applicant for a hearing regarding the application.
  9. After the hearing stage, the authority will review the application and the hearing report and if the application meets the merits for approval, it will be approved.
  10. The applicant will then be informed of the approval through his/her contact details and the applicant will also be informed of the conditions of implementation of the license and required to pay the appropriate license fee.
  11. Visit the National Land Transport Authority office and pay the license fee and the cashier’s office and obtain the payment receipt.
  12. Submit the payment receipt to the National Land Transport Authority official at the licensing Section for conditions of implementation along with the letter of approval of the application.
  13. The official will verify the documents and then the applicant will be issued with the TP plates.

FeesEdit

Fees charged are as follows:

  • Motor vehicle dealer's license: Rs (MUR). 25,000 (Includes the issue of an identification number).
  • Each additional identification number: Rs (MUR). 12,000.
  • A set of identification plates: Rs (MUR). 2,000.
  • Duplicate license: Rs (MUR). 400.
