Mauritius - Obtain License or Permit for Marine Protected Areas

Apply In Person

  1. To apply for a Marine Protected Areas Interference Permit, the applicant should make the application to ​the Marine Conservation Division under Albion Fisheries Research Centre which is under the Ministry of Blue Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries, and Shipping. Please view the ministry’s contact details through this Contact details.
  2. Visit the ministry’s office to obtain the application form at the reception or download the application form directly through this Application form.
  3. Then the applicant should complete the application form and attach all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Document” section below to the application form.
  4. Then visit the ministry's office and pay the requisite application at the cash desk as mentioned in the “Fees” section below and obtain the payment receipt.
  5. Upon making the payment, the applicant should submit the complete application file along with the proof of payment to the official at the Albion Fisheries Research Centre (Marine Conservation Division) service desk.
  6. The official will receive the application and verify its completeness and then issue the applicant with the acknowledgment receipt of the application details.
  7. Then the application will be forwarded to the responsible authority for processing.
  8. The application will be evaluated and if it meets the required merits, the application will be approved.
  9. Then the application will be informed of the approval and issued with the Interference Permits.

  • Individuals who wish to build structures in marine protected areas.



FeesEdit

  • For permanent structures, the fee is Initial fee Rs. (MUR) 75000 Renewal yearly at a fee of Rs. (MUR) 7000 and for temporary structures the is Rs. (MUR) 7000 per month or part thereof



ValidityEdit

  • The permit is valid for one year and it is eligible for renewals.
