Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To apply for a Nursing Home License, the applicant should make the application to the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life. Please view the Ministry’s contact details through this Contact Details.
2. Visit the Ministry’s office and obtain the application form or download the form directly through this Application form
3. Read and complete the form as instructed in the application form and then gather and prepare all the required documents and attach the documents to the application form in a single file.
4. The applicant should then visit the Ministry’s office and pay the application fee at the cashier's desk and obtain the payment receipt.
5. Upon making the payment, the applicant should submit the complete application to the licensing unit of the ministry.
6. The official at the service desk will receive and verify the application and then issue the applicant with the acknowledgment receipt of the application.
7. The application will then be forwarded to the permanent secretary’s office for further assessment and an inspection date on the nursing facility will be scheduled.
8. On the scheduled date inspectors from the ministry will visit the facility and inspect if the facility is suitable for a nursing home according to the condiction provided by the Ministry.
9. Then the inspectors will submit the inspection report to the responsible officials at the permanent secretary’s office for informed decision making regarding the application.
10. The permanent secretary’s office will evaluate the inspection report and the application, and if the report deems that the facility does not satisfy the conditions set for a nursing home, the applicant will be informed in writing to satisfy the conditions for the application to be completed.
11. Once all the conditions for licensing a nursing home are satisfied, the application will be approved and the applicant will be informed through the proper communication channel and the applicant will be required to pay the license fee.
12. Upon payment of the required license fee, the license will be processed and issued to the applicant along with the terms and conditions of operating the nursing home.
