Apply in Person

  1. To apply to Hire Serge Constantin Theatre, you should make your application to the Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage. Please view the ministry's contact details through this Contact details.
  2. Visit the ministry’s office and obtain the application form from the reception or download the form directly through this Application form.
  3. Read and complete the application form as required, and then prepare all the required supporting documents in the required document section below and attach them to the filled-in form.
  4. Then visit the ministry’s office and submit your application for verification. Note that you should submit your application three weeks prior to the show.
  5. Then your application will be verified and forwarded to the responsible authority for processing.
  6. The ministry will assess your application and if it meets the required merits, it will be approved.
  7. You will be notified of the approval in writing within three weeks of submitting the application and required to pay the rates fee for the Serge Constantin Theatre as mentioned in the “Fees” section below.
  8. Upon receiving the approval letter, visit the ministry’s office and pay the requisite fee at the finance section and obtain the payment receipt.
  9. Once, you pay the fee the document for the hire will be prepared and issued to you within three weeks.

  • Clearance Certificates (where applicable) from the Police Department, Rights Management Society, and the Board of Film Classification and Stage Play Censors.
  • Evidence of insurance covers taken.
  • Valid identification document.
  • Any other applicable permits.

  • Citizens or Foreigners that wish to hire the Serge Constantin Theatre.



FeesEdit

The rates for applicaton are:
Monday – Friday

  • 09 00hrs – 16 00hrs (Technical Setup / rehearsal) Rs. (MUR) 400/hr
  • 09 00hrs – 16 00hrs (Show) Rs. (MUR) 1500/hr
  • 16 00hrs – 23 00hrs Rs. (MUR) 4000/hr
  • Saturday (Before 23 00 hrs) Rs. (MUR) 4000/hr
  • Sunday/Public Holiday Rs. (MUR) 5000/hr
  • Beyond 23 00 hrs (Any day) Rs. (MUR) 5000/hr


N.B. The amount may be forfeited in case the event is not held. However, if the event is postponed for not more than 30 days, the amount may stand good.

  • Any balance/ refund will be claimed/settled after the show.
