Apply In-Person:
- To Get Consent and Certificate of Director in person, the applicant should contact the Corporate and business registration department in Mauritius Contact link
- The applicant should download the registration form from this link
- The applicant must Fill in the form with all necessary information, such as name, address, contact number, and other relevant details, as well as attaching all required documents, including proof of identity, proof of address, and any other documentation needed to complete the application process and they can be found under the “Required Document” section of this page.
- Once the applicant has obtained all the necessary documents, they will have to present them to the necessary governing authorities to complete the application process, which can be done either through mail or in person at the Companies Registrar office.
- The Companies Registrar will thoroughly review the submitted documents to ensure that they are in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act and will take necessary steps to ensure that all requirements are met.
- Once the Companies Registrar has issued the relevant confirmation, the applicant will need to pay the required fees, which vary depending on the size of the company and the nature of the documents in Mauritius, and this payment must be made as per the authority’s request.
- After they have paid the required fees, applicants will receive a Consent and Certificate of Director, granting them the authorization to establish and operate a business in their choice.
- Once the application has been reviewed and approved, then the applicant can collect the certificate in person from the department, ensuring that they have all the necessary documents to complete the process.
- If the applicant is unable to collect the certificate in person, they can request the department to send the certificate to them via post as an alternative to collecting it in person.
- Once they receive the certificate, they should carefully read the document, sign it, and return it to the department in a timely manner to ensure that their records are up to date.
- The processing time for this procedure is 10-15 business days.

- In Mauritius, any person who is a natural person and is 18 years or over is eligible to act as a director.
- To be eligible for Consent and Certificate of Director, the person must also meet the criteria set out in the Companies Act 2001 and must satisfy the Registrar of Companies that he/she is a fit and proper person to act as a director.

- Consent and Certificate of Director in Mauritius can be obtained by filing a request to the Companies and Business Registration Office (CBRO) in the country.
- The request must be accompanied by the Company’s Articles of Association and the Director’s Certificate of Identity.
