Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for the Transfer of Secondary School Students in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
  2. Information related to the authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.  Contact link
  3. All applications for transfer to a State Secondary School must be made in writing to the Ministry, either at the office of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
  4. Applications are considered in the light of vacancies available in the school(s) requested.
  5. The Ministry will provide the applicant with the necessary information and forms to fill out.
  6. The applicant may also need to submit supporting documents, such as a medical report, school transfer certificate, or a letter from the previous school.
  7. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful, and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  8. Applicants should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
  9. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
  10. Submit the completed application form along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
  11. Once all the documents have been submitted, a school transfer committee will review their application and decide if the transfer can be approved.
  12. If approved, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources will inform the new school of their acceptance.
  13. The school will then contact the applicant and provide the applicant with the necessary information and instructions for transferring.
  14. It is important to note that all transfers must meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
  15. The Ministry reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet the required criteria.
  16. Generally, the processing time is between 1 to 5 weeks, depending on the situation.

InstructionsEdit

  • Obtain a Transfer of Secondary School Students Form from the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
  • Fill in the form with all the necessary information, such as the student's name, the current school, the proposed school, and the reason for the transfer.
  • Submit the completed form to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.
  • The Ministry of Education and Human Resources will review the form and may request additional information or documents.
  • After the review is complete, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources will issue a Transfer of Secondary School Students Certificate.
  • The Certificate will be sent to the proposed school, which will then decide whether to accept the transfer.

  • The receiving school must accept the student and provide the necessary resources to cater to the student's educational needs.

  • The MOEHR may also set up a special committee to review the application and make the final decision regarding the transfer.
