How to Apply
Abroad Application
- Applicants should contact the Mauritius diplomatic mission in the country that he/she is currently residing, first and schedule an appointment if required.
- Collect the application form to enter Mauritius from the embassy office, or download it via the Passport & Immigration Office website, or click the link below to download Link (Application form for enter {PDF doc)
- Submit the completed form along with the supporting documents (listed below) to be verified and process.
- Pay the required visa processing fee, upon which you will be issued with an acknowledgement receipt. Please note that the processing fee varies between embassies.
- If approved, the ambassador/consulate/authorized official will affix the visa to your passport and you will be notified of the outcome, re-visit the embassy with the acknowledgement receipt and claim your passport.
- Note:
- Countries with no Mauritius Diplomatic/Consulate Representatives can file the visa application at Air Mauritius Office.
Upon arrival in Mauritius
- Citizens of Countries eligible for obtaining visa upon arrival in Mauritius can file the application for the visa at the Passport & Immigration Office (PIO) at the point of entry (Airport/Harbour/ Rodrigues) in Mauritius.
- Collect the application form from the PIO office at the airport, or download it via the Passport & Immigration Office website, or click the link below to download Link (Application form for enter)
- Submit the completed form along with the supporting documents (listed below) to be verified and process.
- Pay the required visa processing fee, the Immigration Officer will then exam your application, and if satisfied that all the documents are in order, He/she decides how long the applicant can stay for a particular visit and will affix the visa to your passport and issue it back to you.
- Note:
- You are advice to contact the Passport & Immigration Office in Mauritius or Embassy/Consular of Mauritius near you first before traveling to Mauritius.
Required DocumentsEdit
Male applicants:
- Application form to enter Mauritius filled and signed by applicant.
- Letter from applicant certifying his intention to marry a Mauritian citizen including:
- Occupation and earning of to ensure his financial support to the would-be spouse; (ii) Lodging /accommodation facilities
- Family status/background; and
- Whether he knows the would-be spouse and for how long they know each other indicating how they got acquainted and since when; 3.
- Two recent passport size photographs of applicant
- Full Birth certificate of applicant
- Full certificate of Morality or Casier Judiciaire or Certificate of Previous Convictions which should bear the names and forenames of the applicant
- Copy of valid return passage ticket ( in case Extension of Wedding Visa)
- Photocopy of data pages of passport of applicant and of arrival stamp of Mauritius
- Confirmation letter from citizen of Mauritius certifying intention of civil marriage with the non-citizen and undertaking of responsibilities
- Birth certificate of Mauritian citizen + National Identity Card
- Divorce decree of both parties(where applicable)
- Death certificate of ex-spouse (where applicable)
- Documentary evidence of latest financial means of the foreigner – a rate of USD 50 per Day.
- Any other document request by Immigration Office/Embassy/Consular of Mauritius
Female applicant:
- Application form to enter Mauritius filled and signed by applicant.
- Letter from applicant certifying her intention to marry a Mauritian citizen
- Two recent passport size photographs of applicant
- Full Birth certificate of applicant
- Full certificate of Morality or Casier Judiciaire or Certificate of Previous Convictions which should bear the names and forenames of the applicant
