Mauritius - Apply for Pleasure Craft License

Apply In-Person
- Applicant should visit the Tourism Authority {TA} office. You can view the TA, location and contact details via this link Link
- Collect the application form from the TA front desk or directly download the form via this Link
- Prepare all required the documents as per the checklist of your specific activity. Checklist can be obtained from the Tourism Authority office or download from the Tourism Authority website Checklist for new application for pleasure craft license or click the link under “Required documents” section below to download.
- Submit the duly completed form along with all supporting documents, at the Helpdesk/ Reception Counter, Tourism Authority office to be verified by the attending officer.
- If the content of the application form is not filled accurately or there are missing documents your application will not be accepted and will be issued back, for correction.
- If the officer is satisfied that the application file is in order, you will be required to pay a non- refundable processing fee MUR 1,000.
- Payment of the processing fees can be effected in cash/ by cheque (drawn in the name of the Tourism Authority) or by card at the Cash Office, Tourism Authority office.
- Upon acceptance of the application, a receipt will be issued. The date of issue of the receipt will be the effective date for the processing of the application.
- Your application file will then be forwarded to the Licensing Committee (LC) at the Tourism Authority office to be verified and processed.
- The Licensing Committee (LC) will then verify, review the application file, survey report conducted Tourism Enforcement Officer (TEO) and the TEO recommendations.
- If the Licensing Committee is satisfied that all the conditions as set for the application are meet and the craft is of sea worthy, you will be informed of the approval by writing and required to make payment to the prescribed license fee.
- Payment of the prescribed licence fees, can be effected in cash/ by cheque (drawn in the name of the Tourism Authority) or by credit card at the Cash Office, Tourism Authority office.
- Upon making payment of the license fee, present the payment receipt, approval letter, authorization letter {if applicable} and nation identity card {NIC}/ Valid passport to be verified by the authorized official, whom will issue you the Pleasure craft License.
Apply Online
- Visit the Tourism Authority (TA) website Link , Log in with you credential {password/email address} if you have an account, if you do not have an account, click on “Register a New account” option.
- Enter your email address, answer the math security question then click on “Create New Account “tab.
- A notification mail for log in, will be sent to the email account you had registered with, click on the link in the mail message.
- You will be redirected to the next page, click on “Log in “tab, create your password, Time zone, Name, enter your password, then click on the “Save “tab.
- Note: After changing the password, the user must now make an application in the system in less than 14 days, failing which the account will be deleted.
- You will then be required to create a profile, i.e. either for an individual (self) or an agent (on behalf of an applicant).
Creating a profile as an individual/for self
- If you opt to file the applicant as an individual/ for self, select the “+Click here to create Profile” button under “For self” tab.
- Add Applicant/ licensee details page will be displayed, under Type of license or the certificated initiallyrequired drop box select “pleasure Craft Licence “fill out all mandatory fields, upload the required documents as listed on the site, answer all the security questions then click on the “Save” tab.
- An applicant profile will be created by the system and licence application form will automatically be displayed on the screen
- Application particulars page will be displayed Under Type of licence/certificate select either “Pleasure craft licence {private purposed} orPleasure craft licence {commercial purpose}” option.
- Under type of Pleasure Craft License, select “New” option.
- Under craft activity, select thespecific activity you wish to apply for, the click on the “Next page” tab.
- Applicant Details Page, will be displayed, fill out all mandatory fields ,upload all the required documents listed on the site then click on the “Next page” tab
- Final Declaration page, will be displayed, if you are certified that all the information you have given is accurate, please check the certify box, then click on “Next page” tab.
- Payment page, will then be displayed select the mode of payment convenient to you i.e. {online/ at the counter}.
- If you select via online, click on the “Pay online” tab and processed to make the payment then click on “submit“ tab.
- If you had opt for payment via the cash counter, an invoice will be generate and sent to the email address you had registered with, print it out and visit the Tourism Authority (TA) office and make payment.
- Payment of the processing fees, can be effected in cash/ by cheque (drawn in the name of the Tourism Authority) or by card at the TA Cash Office.
- The application file will only be processed by theLicensing Committee (LC) at the Tourism Authority office, upon making payment of the processing fee.
- The Licensing Committee (LC) will then determine, if an inspection/survey of the Pleasure craft is required.
- If the LC deem it necessary for the craft to be inspected, you will have to file the “Application for Survey of Pleasure Craft”.
- The Licensing Committee (LC) will then verify, review the application file, survey report conducted Tourism Enforcement Officer (TEO) and the TEO recommendations.
- If the Licensing Committee is satisfied that all the conditions as set for the application are me, you will be informed of the approval by writing and required to make payment to the prescribed license fee.

Creating a profile as an agent:
- If you opt to file the applicant as an agent (on behalf of the applicant), select the “+Click here to create Profile” button under “an agent (on behalf of the applicant)” tab.
- Add licensing Agent page will be displayed, fill out all mandatory fields then click on “Save “tab.
- Then click on the “click here to create an Applicant Profile” tab.
- Please note: Then Follow the application process as explained above from the (8th) eighth point, {“under Creating a profile as an individual/for self”} on how to file the application process, make payment and how to obtain the Pleasure craft license, with the Tourism Authority (TA).
