Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for International Driver license in Manipur, the applicant has to approach the RTO office of the area.
   
2. Information related to the RTO offices and licensing authority can be obtained from the “Office Locations and Contacts ” Section of this page.
   
3. You will have to submit Application in front of licensing authority.
   
4. The application shall be made in application form no. 4 to the RTO within whose jurisdiction the applicant resides, specifying the countries to be visited and the duration of stay etc.

6. The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for duplicate driver license by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
   
7. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
   
8. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
   
9. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

Apply Online via National Portal - Manipur International driving license Online with Images

1. In order to apply for online, please follow the link : online portal
2. Please select "Online Services" from the menu and click on "Driver License Related Services".
3. You will be taken to a new screen where you have to select “Manipur” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”.
4. Once you select the State, you will be redirected to the page, HOMEPAGE
   
5. Click on apply online
   
6. From the given options select “Services on Driving license (Renewal/Duplicate/Aedl/Others)”, you will be redirected to instructions page:
7. You can click on “continue” to move to the application form.
   
8. Fill the Applicant Details as instructed and required.
   
9. Upload the required Documents mentioned on this page
   
10. Upload Photo and Signature if required (applicable for only some states)
    
11. Pay the required fees
    
12. Once the application, along with documents and fees is submit, the officers will process to issue international driving license.

• International Driving Permit will be issued to an applicant who holds a valid Indian Licence and who is a resident of India.

• The standards for the International Driver's License were defined by the United Nations Conference on Road Traffic, Final Act held in the year 1968. According to this law, the International Driver's License is defined mainly as a document:
  
• That states the main information contained in the Original Driver's License in English.
  
• That has the photo and signature (or thumbprint) of the owner of the vehicle.
  
• That states the categories of vehicles for which the Original Driver's License is valid.
  
• That states the restrictive conditions of driving and terms of disqualifications.
  
• International Driver's License consists of two parts. The first part consists of a booklet which states all the standards approved by the latest UN convention and a plastic identity card. The genuineness of the information on the plastic card is ascertained by the presence of a hologram.
