Maldives - Add Category to Existing Driver License

ProcedureEdit

  1. Submit the filled application form with the necessary documents and form to the information counter and obtain the acknowledgement slip. (This slip will be issued only when all the documents are submitted)
  2. Take a token number and when your number is displayed, submit the acknowledgement slip (issued from information counter) to the service counter.
  3. Obtain the appointment slip stating the time, date and the location where the test would be held on form the service counter.
  4. Go to the Driving Site on the date and time specified on the Appointment Slip and inform to the examiner about your presence.
  5. When your name is called by the examiner, do the driving test as instructed by the examiner (Appointment slip and National Identity Card should be submitted to the examiner before when your name is called.)
  6. If you pass the Driving Test, the result will be informed immediately by the examiner.
  7. To obtain the License Card (with the added category mentioned); follow the Procedure for Obtaining License Card from the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Environment.

  • Filled "LL1 Form"
  • Passport size photo (1) which has been taken not more than 3 months ago
  • National Identity Card (Copy)
  • License Card (Original)
  • Driving Permit issued previously with the License Card (Original)
  • Revenue Stamp worth Rf 50 (or Rf 50, if purchasing the stamp from counter)
