Procedure

• Visit the concerned authority.
• Fill the application form with the complete information. Appointed lawyer must completed all information required including the lawyers name, MyKad or ID number and affixed the lawyers official stamp in Part C of the application form.
• Submit the necessary documents.
• Pay the prescribed fee.

• MyKad
• Original passport for non-citizen
• Proof of residence
• Power of attorney/authorization letter (applicable only to the relatives and/or lawyer)
• Application letter from the lawyer with power of attorney (if application is made through the lawyer)

Only the photocopy is required if the application is by post.

Eligibility

Only the following are allowed to search and extract the marriage certificate:

• Relatives
  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Parents
  • Siblings
• Appointed lawyer

Fees

• For each requested year of marriage search - RM 5.00
• For extract of marriage register - RM 5.00
• For extract of marriage register in English version - RM 10.00
• For extract of marriage register under the Registration of Marriages Ordinance 1952 - RM 4.00

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.
e.g. Birth Certificate Valid Forever
