The Entertainment Duty Department, the Government of Maharashtra provides online facility to user for applying for Video Exhibition Permission. User can read the instructions and fill the form. Online service is provided by the government to save time of the user. The portal is available in two languages English and Marathi; user can select any of the preferred language. However, the application form can be printed and applied in person along with the necessary documents to the District Office.

Apply Online through aaplesarkar :
  1. The applicant needs to register on the website Create User Id
  2. The applicant can login using the credentials and fill the form as instructed.
  3. The applicant can fill the online application form for “Video Exhibition Permission” in the citizen login section: Online Application
  4. Submit the application.
  5. After submitting the application, user will get a reference slip or number which should be kept for future reference.
  6. Status of the application can be tracked by the user in “Track your Application” section. For tracking the application, application id or reference number will be required.

Apply in Person:

  1. The applicant can collect the form from Theater Branch or you can receive it through fax.
  2. The filled application form along with the necessary documents mentioned below should be submitted to the Licensing Authority, the Commissioner of Police.

Photocopy of documents should be attached while applying in person and scanned documents should be uploaded while applying online. Keep all the documents in scanned form like JPEG, GIF and PDF, so that it can be uploaded while making online application on the website. If submitting in person, xerox copies needs to be attached.

Unless you submit these documents, your application will not be processed and you cannot start the business by submitting an incomplete application.

After receipt of all required documents, the application will be processed. enquiries will be made by the concerned Police station regarding suitability of the place and the law and order situation.

Q8. What about enquiries regarding suitability of the place?
Enquiries will be made by the concerned/local Police station. 

  1. Whether the place is in closed premises. 
  2. Whether the area of premises is more than 40 sq. meters
  3. Whether the place is on the ground floor of a building.
  4. Whether the screen can be seen outside the premises.
  5. Whether sound goes out of the premises.
  6. Distance between the floor and the roof.
  7. Seating capacity at a time. 
  8. Whether the distance between the screen and first lane is more than 1.80 meters.
  9. Whether the size of the screen or the T.V. is more than 51 centimetres.
  10. Whether folding chairs are fixed on the floor.
  11. Whether the distance between the two lines of the chairs is more than 30 centimetres.
  12. Whether the screen can be seen by the last person sitting on the last line.
  13. Whether arrangement of fans/A.C. is made available. 
  14. Whether separate doors are made available for entrance and exit. 
  15. Whether separate latrine facilities for ladies and gents are made available. 
  16. Whether first aid and prevention of fire arrangements are made available.

Maharashtra Cinema (Regulation) Rules, 1966

Q10. How long will the process take?
The process will take minimum 30 to 45 days from the date of submission of all the required documents.

Q11. What is the fee for issuing the license?

  • The fee structure is as under:
  • Premises license fee Rs. 100 (annually).
  • Ticket selling license fee Rs. 15 (annually).

Q12. If the report of the Police station is negative, what would be the result of my application?
If the report is negative or your application is rejected, you will be given a personal hearing.

Q13. What is the procedure for the renewal of license?
You will have to make an application along with a copy of your license one month prior to the expiry of the license. You will also have to submit valid NOC's along with the application. enquiries will be made through the concerned Police station and after the receipt of the enquiry report, you will be intimated.

Q14. What are the renewal charges?
Same as license fees.
