Maharashtra - Apply for Pool Game Or Pool Parlor Certificate

The Entertainment Duty Department, the Government of Maharashtra provides online facility to user to apply for Pool Game/Pool Parlor Certificate. User can read the instructions and fill the form. Online service is provided by the government to save time of the user. The portal is available in two languages English and Marathi; user can select any of the preferred language. However, the application form can be printed and applied in person along with the necessary documents to the District Office.

Apply Online through aaplesarkar
  1. To apply online, the applicant shall follow the given aaple sarkar link: Link and click on the "New User? Register Here" tab.
  2. From the given options, select any one mode to create User ID and Password.
  3. Now verify UID or Create your own user profile using OTP verification on your mobile.
  4. A new page will open up where the applicant has to fill up all the personal detail(Name, D.O.B, Age, Gender, etc) in the portal.
  5. Now enter the address as per the document.
  6. After that provide mobile number and OTP, PAN No., UID No., and confirm password.
  7. Now upload a photograph between 5kB to 20kB in JPEG format.
  8. Now choose from the drop now menu any one of the Proof of Identity.
  9. Finally provide a Proof of Address by clicking from the menu on screen.
  10. Click on the declaration box and then click the "Register" tab.
  11. After login, click Link and then click on “Apply”.
  12. The applicant will get an application displayed.
  13. Fill up the application form correctly and pay the requisite fee.
  14. On completion, the applicant will be notified.
  15. You can check the status of the application in the portal by signing in with User ID and password.



Apply in Person:

  1. Applications can also be made in-person through the Entertainment Duty Department offices and sub-offices.
  2. You will be able to find the office location information and contact information under the following link: Office Contacts select the station by clicking on the drop-down menu box.
  3. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. After the authorities validate your application and the documents that are submitted the process for Pool Game/Pool Parlour certificate will be initiated.

Photocopy of documents should be attached while applying in person and scanned documents should be uploaded while applying online. Keep all the documents in scanned form like JPEG, GIF and PDF, so that it can be uploaded while making online application on the website. If submitting in person, xerox copies needs to be attached.

Q1. What are the requirements for obtaining the license of a swimming pool?
You should make an application affixing a court fee stamp of Rs. 5 on it to the Citizen's Facilitation Centre, Commissioner of Police Compound, Crawford Market,Mumbai.

Q2. What are the requirements to procure a swimming pool license?
You have to submit the following documents along with your application. 

  1. Approved plans (3 sets)
  2. Name and address of the swimming pool and assessment number.
  3. Name and address of the individual/partnership firm/company on whose name the license has to be granted.
  4. Reason for requirement of the swimming pool 
  5. NOC from the Health Officer, BMC 
  6. NOC from the Chief Fire Officer
  7. List of all the Life Saving equipments 8.  Details of the swimming pool (area, maximum and minimum depth, number of swimmers who can swim at a time, dressing room/showers/ bathrooms for ladies and gents). 
  8. Name and address of the manager of swimming pool. 

After the receipt of all the required documents, the application will be processed. enquiries will be made by the concerned Police station regarding the suitability of place and from the point of the law and order situation. A report will also be invited from the Traffic department from the traffic point of view. 
After the receipt of the above reports, a decision will be made and applicant is intimated accordingly.

Q3. What is the fee structure?
- License fees (as per new rules) Rs. 3,000 yearly. Addition/alteration in the license Rs. 500 Issue of duplicate license Rs. 500

Q4. How much time will it take?
- It will take minimum of three months.

Q5. What is the renewal procedure?
- For renewal of the swimming pool license, you will have to make an application affixing a court fee stamp of Rs. 5 on it and submit a NOC from The Health Department, BMC.

Q6. What is the renewal fee?
- Same as of license fee.

Q7. How much time will it take?
- It will take a minimum of 2 working days.

Q8.Under what rule is the Police license required?
- The Greater Bombay Swimming Pools (Licensing and Controlling) Rules, 1972.

Q9. Our swimming pool is exclusively for the use of our members and not open for the public. Why do we need a Police license?
- For this you will have to make an application providing all details of the swimming pool, its members and its bylaws. All the necessary enquiries will be made and you will be informed accordingly.
