How to Apply
Post-paid payment methods

Post-paid Customer’s subscribers with Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) upon receiving monthly electricity bill for service rendered by the company are required to pay for their electricity bill in time through the following methods of payment

Cash Payment

Subscribers can make cash payments at private vending station (PDS’) authorized pay points which are located countrywide or at any LEC branch offices near you at the paying counters clearly marked CASHIER.

Bank Payments

You can pay your electricity bill at any branch of the Standard Lesotho Bank locate countrywide, visit any of the bank branches and make payment, LEC account number can be obtain from the bank.

Cheque Payments

Cheques may be deposited in designated boxes in pay centres and at specific business premises appointed by LEC to serve as drop-off points or at any LEC branch offices near you, drop the cheque at check box, revisit the LEC office within 2 days to collect the receipt.

Mobile app

Payment can be made via the following mobile service providers (Vodacom (m-pesa)/ Econet Ecocash)

Pre- paid top-up methods

Pre-paid Customer’s subscribers with Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) to purchase electricity token/credit in advance through the following methods of payment

Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) Agent

Subscribers can buy prepaid credits/token at any of LEC offices or accredited private vending station located country wide, upon which you will be issued with the 20 digits receipt with the token units you had purchase .

Insert the 20 digits to the keypad gadget issued by the LEC to recharge your electricity credit/unit

Mobile app
Electricity token/credit can be purchased via the following mobile service providers and App (Vodacom (m-pesa)/ Econet Ecocash)

1. Vodacom M-Pesa
2. Dial *111# to access My phone menu, then select option 4 from the drop list “M-Pesa”
3. You will then be redirected to the next page select “M-Pesa services”
4. Then select “payments” and enter the value amount you wish to purchase (NO COMMAS) e.g. 2000
5. Enter your personal PIN Number.
6. Then select LEC and enter Your LEC account number
7. Then send the request, you will receive an SMS confirming the transaction.
8. You will receive an SMS with 20 digits, valued as per amount you had purchased.
9. Insert the 20 digits to the keypad gadget issued by the LEC to recharge your electricity credit/unit
10. Econet Ecocash
11. Dial *199# and enter your PIN to access your Ecocash menu.
12. You will then be redirected to the next page select option 8 ”Pay bill”
13. Then select LEC and enter Your LEC account number
14. Enter the value amount to purchase (NO COMMAS) e.g. 2000
15. Then send the request, you will receive an SMS confirming the transaction.
16. You will receive an SMS with 20 digits, valued as per amount you had purchased.
17. Insert the 20 digits to the keypad gadget issued by the LEC to recharge your electricity credit/unit.

Fees

• Post-paid subscribers
  • Amount to be paid is indicated on the monthly electricity invoice
• Pre –paid subscribers
• Token/credit amount that the subscriber wish to purchase

Validity

• The bill is valid for one month
