Procedure

For obtaining Certificate of Origin from respective Chamber of Commerce, Applicants are required to furnish the chamber a permanent indemnity bond on a Non-Judicial stamp paper as per advised amount (usually Rs. 30/- ) duly notarized (format for Indemnity Bond is available with the Certificate of Origin Department).

Registering with Indian Chamber of Commerce

1. For Registering, Applicant should approach the Chamber of Commerce.
2. Please refer the “Office Locations & Contacts” for the contact details.
3. The format for Indemnity Bond can be availed from the respective registering office.
4. Stamp paper (as instructed) should be purchased in the name of the Company/Establishment.
5. The Bond shall be signed by the Director or Partner or Proprietor of the Company only
6. Please make sure you have all required document to be submitted with Bond.
7. Submit the Bond and required documents to the concerned authority
8. After the process, Chamber will give the Registration Number to the applicant.
9. on every time of submission of application for Certificate of Origin the Registration Number with chamber must be mentioned on application for reference.
   
   

For Issuance of Certificate

1. With the registration number as obtained Applicant has to submit covering letter (for CO) addressed to the Director General of respective chamber, on the printed letterhead of the company (Two Copy)

3. Applicant must have all required documents mentioned in “Required Documents” in this Page
4. Submit the all set of required documents with application to the concerned authority.
5. This certificate will be issued after signing and stamping from the issuing authorities.

Required Documents

Documents for Registration:

• Profile of the Company/Establishment.
• Photocopy of I/EC registration document.
• Certificate of Incorporation.
• PAN Card.
• Stamp paper should be purchased in the name of the Company / Establishment.
• Indemnity bond
• The Bond shall only be signed by the Director / Chairman / Partner/ Proprietor of the Company.
• A covering letter (on Original Letterhead) addressed to the Director General
• Authorized Signatory attested copy of authorization letter

• A covering letter (on Original Letterhead) addressed to the Director General, Indian Chamber of Commerce
• Blank Certificate of Origin Forms
• Invoice,
• Packing List,
• Letter of Credit or Purchase Order or E-mail order
• relevant clearance certificates from Customs Department (In case of goods which have been imported prior)
• Agency Agreement/Power of Attorney

Eligibility

Goods should be of Indian Origin and manufacture.

Fees

• Cost of issuing Certificate of Origin will depend on the number of pages submitted.
• Cost of attestation will depend on the number of pages and the number of copies of each document.
• For 50 pages book, The Rate of Certificate of Origin Form Rs. 80/-

Validity

This certificate is applied for the consignment produced against the purchase order. So, validity of the certificate is applicable for the produced goods

Other uses of the Document/Certificate

• Certificate of Origin is a document, used to certify that the export products are wholly obtained, produced or manufactured in India. It is generally an integral part of export documents.
• Certificate of Origin also constitutes a declaration by the exporter. Virtually every country in the world considers the origin of imported goods when determining what duty will be assessed on the goods
