ProcedureEdit
- No individual can start or continue a business dealing drugs / cosmetics / medicine in India, unless an appropriate license is obtained from the designated authority.
- As different state has different parameters and regulations, as a first step applicant shall consult their local drug license authority to get advice on how to apply.
- Any updated rules and regulations in issuance of license.
- Update on drugs that were included in the list for which license can’t be obtained.
- Fees payment type etc.
Apply In-Person:
- Drugs Controller & licensing Authority,Thiruvananthpuram is the nodal office for Lakshadweep drug license related matters.
- Applicant shall contact district health service office and find out any updated information for applying. Please get the contact information through any one of the above mentioned contacts or meet your local administrative department to avail the information.
- In general please submit application along with required documents and original copy of fees paid challan to the Assistant Drug Controller (ADC) or designated authority at District health service or Drugs Control Office of your area.
- Application form can be obtained from the respective authority on visit. Please complete the application and submit along with required documents.
- The submitted application will be checked by authorities for details and norms.
- If all are in place authorities will issue a receipt for application submission.
- This application will be processed further.
- Applicant gets notification about the process updates through SMS.
- Drug inspector or the respective authority will inspect the premises for verifying the correctness.
- After the inspection is over, Competent person will be asked to report for interview.
- Once all the above process are over controller of drugs or the appropriate authority will issue drug license.
- Applicant will receive information about the issue of license and shall receive it on hand or through mail as appropriate.
- Note:
- Fee payment for the license is accepted in different formats like challan/cheque as applicable. Applicants are advised to take the consultation with the respective drug license authority for your area to prepare fees requirement.

- A competent (registered pharmacist from the state pharmacy council) person with experience shall apply
