ProcedureEdit

  • The registrar of the Nursing Council of Kenya enters and maintains on the appropriate record, the name and address of every person enrolled under the Nurse Act together with his professional qualifications and such other particulars as may be prescribed by the Council.

Apply Online

  1. One can make a search query to check for the authenticity of a Kenya Enrolled Midwife in the Midwives Roll of the Nursing Council of Kenya. This can be done by doing an online search on the Nursing Council Kenya (NCK) website page.
  2. Visit the (NCK) “NURSING COUNCIL OF KENYA” website and on the homepage click on the “ONLINE SERVICES ” Tab and choose the “Search our Registers” option in the next page.
    • This will direct you to the Nursing Council of Kenya Register where you are to make the search
  3. Enter the name or the enrollment number of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife you wish to authenticate into the search box and click on the “Search Register” button.
    • The system will automatically query your search and the details of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife you wish to authenticate will be displayed
  4. Click on the “View” button at the far-left end of the search results to get the full details of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife.
  5. This will result to the system displaying the enrollment details of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife. You can now check and confirm the enrollment details of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife
  6. Upon clicking the “View Details” option the following details will be displayed.
    • Full names of the Kenya Enrolled Midwife
    • Training Information and qualification
    • Enrollment number
    • Enrollment Date
  7. With this you can confirm the enrollment details of the Kenya Enrolled Nurse

Rolls to be kept by the Registrar of the Nursing council of Kenya

  • The Registrar shall, under the direction of the Council, compile and keep in his office the following rolls—
  1. a roll of nurses;
  2. a roll of midwives;
  3. a roll of community health nurses;
  4. a roll of psychiatric nurses,

and such other rolls as may from time to time be required by the Council with the approval of the Minister.

  • Subject to the payment of a retention fee, there shall be entered and maintained on the appropriate roll the name and address of every person entitled to be enrolled under this Nurses Act Cap 257 together with his professional qualifications and such other particulars as may be prescribed by the Council.


Persons entitled to be enrolled

  • Except as otherwise provided in the Nurses and Midwives Act or in any regulations made thereunder, every person shall be entitled to enrolment in the appropriate roll who satisfies the Council that he is of good character and has paid the prescribed enrolment fee and who—
  1. has undergone a prescribed course of instruction and has passed the appropriate examination conducted or prescribed by the Council; or
  2. has undergone a course of training and passed an examination, elsewhere than in Kenya, which the Council recognizes as equivalent to the qualification by examination required under the Nurses Act Cap 257.
