Kenya - Obtain a Doctor or Dentist General Practice License

Apply Online

  1. A registered medical or dental practitioner can apply for a General Medical Practice License or a General Medical Practice License, online by visiting the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council’s (KMPDC) Online Services Portal through the following KMPDC Online Services Portal
  2. Upon entering the KMPDC’s portals homepage, the applicant should click on the “Create Account” option to register for an account on the KMPDC online portal. This will direct the applicant to the next page where they can to start their licensing process.
  3. Under the “Register for Online Services” menu input the required information.
  4. The applicant should select the “MEDICINE or DENTISTRY” option under the “SELECT CADRE” option.
  5. The applicant should then proceed to input their Practitioners Registration Number, ID/PASSPORT Number and their email address
  6. Upon entering the required information for registration click on the “Register for Online Services” Tab to submit the registration. This will cause a confirmation email address to be sent to the applicant’s email address.
  7. The applicant should then log into their email address and confirm their registration by clicking on the “Complete Registration” button in the email which has been sent. This will direct the applicant back to the KMPDC Online Services Portal.
  8. Upon entering the portal, the applicant is to edit their profile by their Personal and Professional details, Uploading their Photograph and Changing/Setting their password.
  9. Upon updating the profile, click on the “Annual Practice License” tab in the menu on the left pane , to enter into the next page.
  10. On the Annual practice License page , click on the “Click here to make Application for Annual Practice License for 20xx” button to enter the next page where the applicant is required to provide information for the application.
  11. Please provide required information for licensing. These include:-
    • Email
    • Mobile
    • Practice type (Clinical / Non-Clinical)
    • Type of license (Make sure to select General Practice)
    • Employer Details (National Government , County Government, Private Sector(Health institutions), Training institutions ,Non-governmental organization, Faith based organization, independent Practice, Others)
    • Select county
    • Workstation /Facility
  12. Confirm that all the information given is correct and click on the “Save & Continue” button. This will cause an invoice for payment of the application fees to be generated.
  13. On the MPDC Invoice page click on the “Click to Pay Now” button to pay for the Annual General Medical/ Dental Practice Licence
  14. Proceed to make the payment using the instructions given online. The Payment instructions will be generated and displayed automatically in the portal. More information about the Replacement fees to be paid is given in the “Fee” section of this page.
  15. Upon making the application payment, a payment receipt and the Annual General Medical Practice Licence will be generated online.
  16. The applicant should wait for approximately 10 minutes then refresh the invoice page. After refreshing the page, they should find receipt and license ready to be printed.
  17. Click on the “Download Receipt “ Button and the Download License button to download the payment receipt and Annual General Medical Practice Licence respectively.
  18. Print the receipt and license and keep them for reference.

  • The customs agent license is valid for a period of one year and expire on the 31st of Dec of every year.
