Procedure

Apply Online

1. To apply for a postal address rental box as an Individual, Corporate, or a Special corporate online, the applicant should make the application to the Postal office (POSTA) through the Posta Online Box Services via this link
2. On the portal, click on the “Box Service” in the online service.
3. From redirected click on the “Apply Here” option under the New Box Application tab to choose the type of application link
4. Then the applicant should open the type of application drop box menu and select to apply as a corporate application for companies or Individual application for a personal address to be directed to the online application form.
5. Then the applicant should complete the application form correctly and click on the “Submit” button to go to the payment option.
6. Pay for the application using the online platform and print the payment receipt.
7. Then the applicant should visit the chosen postal office and obtain the postal box key.
   
   

Apply In Person

1. To apply for a postal address rental box as an Individual, Corporate, or a Special corporate, the applicant should make the application to the Postal office (POSTA). Please view the POSTA’s contact details through this link
2. Visit the postal office to obtain the application form for a private letter bag/box.
3. Then the applicant should complete the application form correctly and attach all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below to the application form.
4. Then the applicant should visit the postal office and pay the application fee at the cash desk and obtain the payment receipt.
5. Upon making the payment, the applicant should submit the completed application file with the attached documents to the postal official at the service desk.
6. The postal officer will receive the application and check if the form is completed correctly and all the required documents are attached as required.
7. After successfully verifying the application, the officer will register the applicant to a specific postal address.
8. Then the applicant will be issued the key to his/her postal box.

Eligibility

• Individuals and Companies are eligible to apply.

Fees

• The annual fee is Ksh2000 per year for individuals.
• For corporates, the annual fee is Ksh6000 a year and for Special groups, the fee is Ksh4500 per year. A payment of Ksh800 is made for Sub Post offices with post boxes.

Validity

• A postal address is valid forever and it is renewed annually.
