Karnataka - Change due to Vehicle Replacement in Vehicle National Permit (All India)

To Replace a vehicle in the national permit in Karnataka the applicant has to approach the RTO office where the permit was obtained. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office: Contact Link
Application forms can be obtained from the RTO office.
Completed application form that can be obtained from RTO
Make sure you have all the necessary documents.
The applicant should make sure they are eligible for the process.
Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented along with documents and appropriate fees.
Officials would start processing your application.
Important verification for the permit includes built of vehicle, Vehicle chassis number etc.. will be carried by authorities.
After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements, the application will be processed further.

Original permit.
Registration Certificate of the proposed vehicle for replacing the existing vehicle.
Fitness Certificate of the existing vehicle and the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
Insurance Certificate in respect of the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle.
Payment of green tax wherever applicable for the new vehicle.
Proof of payment of the vehicle proposed for replacing the existing vehicle the current quarter.

Note : If the existing vehicle is under stoppage and it is not having valid F.C., valid I.C., and payment of tax for the current quarter are not up-to-date – Not to worry as long as the stoppage is genuine.

Need for the DocumentEdit

If a owner of a permit holder desires to replace his existing vehicle with the new vehicle, then one has to follow the process and get the new vehicle replaced.
The replacement may be required in case..
- The vehicle met with accident then it need to be replaced.
- The age of the vehicle is not appropriate for the permit then it need to be replaced.
- In case of sales, then new vehicle should be replaced with the old one.
National Permit is needed for a vehicle operator to ply his vehicle in more than 4 states.

Holder of the permit shall furnish to the Regional Transport Authority such periodical returns, statistics and other information as the State Government may, from time to time, prescribe.
FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities.
