Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for Autorickshaw Permit in Jharkhand the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to.

  3. Application form can be downloaded using the following link: Application forms
  4. Respective application form obtained from RTO
  5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
  6. Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
  7. Please make sure that you are eligible for this procedure
  8. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
  9. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle condition, Meter for fare, Seating arrangements etc.; will be carried by authorities.
  10. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed.

Apply Online:

  1. To Apply for Auto Rickshaw Permanent Permit in Jharkhand, the applicant shall visit the following webpage: Link.
  2. Now click on the "Permit" option and proceed.
  3. A new page will open, where the applicant must log in using their login credentials.
  4. After login, the applicant shall choose an appropriate option for the process.
  5. On a newly opened page, the applicant shall fill the application form with all the necessary details and complete the given application form.
  6. Now the applicant shall upload scanned copies of all the "Required Documents" for further processing.
  7. Once the documents are uploaded, provide the mobile number and enter the received OTP.
  8. Now click on "Submit" and complete the process.
  9. On successful verification, the permit will be issued.
  10. Obtain the permit from the concerned office.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To Apply for auto rickshaw permanent permit in Jharkhand, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
  2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the card.
  3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
  4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
  5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
  6. On successful verification, the applicant will be notified by the CSC centre.

  2. Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
  3. Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
  4. Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
  5. Insurance Certificate.
  6. Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  7. Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or) Notary Public
  8. Passport size photo-2
  9. Pollution under control certificate
  10. Proof of Address (any one of the following to be produced)

(ii) Aadhaar Card
(iii) Electoral Roll
(iv) LIC Policy
(v) Passport
(vi) Pay slip issued - Govt. Office (or) a Local Body
(vii) Age Proof (any one of the following)

Need for the DocumentEdit


  • Auto rickshaw Permit is needed for a Auto rickshaw owner to carry passengers on a hire basis from one point to another.
  • Auto Rickshaw is a three wheeler vehicle constructed or adapted to carry allowed number of passengers excluding the driver for hire.
  • Permit for Auto Rickshaw is to grant the holder to operate the vehicle for a specific period on area designated.
  • The permit also grants the holder to pick passengers in his Auto Rickshaw under the designated area with fares fixed by government on timely basis.

  1. It is advisable to go to the Regional Transport Officer / State Transport Authority between 9:00am to 5:00pm.
  2. FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
