Apply In-Person :

  1. Ration Card holder should approach block level supply officers in rural areas and sub divisional / district level supply officer in urban areas to add or delete name in ration card.
  2. Link for contact : Link AND link1 Please select the menu option “DISTRICT” to get list of districts. Please select the district for respective portal and then select the menu option “Citizen Services > PDS (PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM)” or “SERVICES > PDS” or “ABOUT DISTRICT > Who’s Who” for contact details.
  3. Please go to the respective office.
  4. Applicant shall obtain the form from the respective office (please pay for the form if required) Or a written/electronically typed application on A4 plain sheet as advised shall be used.
  5. Please submit the completed application along with required documents to the respective authority.
  6. Authorities after checking the submitted application along with attached documents will make entries and provide you record number for reference.
  7. Keep it safe for future reference.
  8. This application will be forwarded to the concerned Ward/ Grama Panchayath official for verification. The concerned official visits the house of the applicant for verification and approves the request, if the applicant is found eligible.
  9. The applicant is informed through SMS at various stages i.e., Advance intimation about date of visit of the official to his place of residence for verification of his application, Approval/Rejection of his application.
  10. After ground level verification ration card will be issued in 2 – 3 weeks or as notified by the department



Apply Online

For addition of members:
  1. Please use the following link to reach online portal. Link: online link
  2. Please go through the information and hit “Proceed” at the bottom to reach next page.
  3. Please select “Add family member” against “Select ERCMS Activity” from the drop down menu and hit “submit” to reach next page.
  4. In the given page enter the ration card number as prompted and mobile number (you can get the information of SMS on mobile number) and hit “Submit” to get next page.
  5. Applicant will get the form, fill it and click on Send Request button.
  6. In the resulting page click “OK” to submit the form and to get acknowledgement. Keep it safe for future reference.
  7. Take out the print of the filled form, Print out the Ration and attach the relevant document and go to the relevant BSO Office and submit it and get the receipt from the office.
  8. Attach the attachment with the printed form as per the requirement of the application
  9. Further process will result in issuance of ration card.



For removal of members:
  1. Please use the following link to reach online portal. Link: online link

  3. Please select “Family member removal” against “Select ERCMS Activity” from the drop down menu and hit “submit” to reach next page.

  5. Applicant will get the form, fill it and click on Send Request button.

Apply through Centres:

  1. To add or delete names in the Ration Card in Jharkhand, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. #Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
  2. Procure the application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for making such an amendment.
  3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
  4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
  5. Now submit the application to the office of the concerned centre.
  6. On successful verification, the deletion or addition of the applicant's name in the Ration Card will be notified by the CSC centre.
  7. Obtain the new card from the concerned office.

EligibilityEdit

  • A valid ration card holder.
  • The applicant and his/her family must be Indian citizens and should be resident of the state.
  • The applicant or his family members must not possess any family card in any State in India (If they had one, it has to be withdrawn).
  • The applicant and members of the family must be close relatives.
  • New born above 5 years
  • Addition of member name after marriage

  • Usually Family identity card is valid for lifetime and will be renewed in 5 years or based on announcement.

  • For implementation of the Targeted Public Distribution System(TPDS), Ration Card is being issued to all the heads of families, with details about family members included in the card. Based on their economic condition, people can buy goods like food grains, sugar and kerosene with the help of their ration cards.
