Jammu and Kashmir - How to Pay Electricity Bill

ProcedureEdit

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
Power Development Department (PDD) is one of the Department of Jammu & Kashmir State Government responsible for all functions related to transmission and distribution of electric power in the state.
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid by
1. Pay In-Person
2. Pay Online
3. Pay through App
4. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill at the respective electricity office. Please use the below links to get contact details of respective division / Sub division. : Division Contact link AND Help line number : 0194-2492492 to locate your bill payment center
Go to the respective division / Subdivision and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Pay Online – through POWER LAC portal

Go to online portal link
Please enter Consumer code, Amount to pay, Name as on bill, Mobile number at the prompts and then hit Pay now tab to get OTP popup. (If you are not registered, then use the My Account session to enter the details to register)
In the OTP popup, click proceed to get the OTP in the mobile number provided. Please enter the OTP in the prompted box and hit “Validate OTP” tab to reach the next screen
User has to click “Pay Now” after checking the details as provided are OK to get next page.
In the given page, user can change the amount by using the “change amount” tab. If the amount is correct, click the box for “I accept… “ and then check other prompted options aand finally hit “ Make Payment Now” to reach the Payment gateway page
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

JKPDD BillSahuliyat GO Mobile App

This app can be downloaded using the Google play store. Link for download : Play store link
Once installed, user gets welcome screen and the next screen is Select the “Set Up New Account” Option.
Register with your Consumer ID and Installation Number available on your PDD Bill
Enter your e-mail to get the OTP
Enter the OTP which you will receive in mail.
Click Next to Complete the Registration.
In the next screen Please hit “PAY NOW” to reach next screen.
Once the next screen reached, please provide the prompted details and proceed for making payment using appropriate option.
Once the payment gateway page is reached, user can select respective payment gateway option to make the payment.
Please fill in the applicable details and follow the screen prompts to progress for completing the online payment process.
Once the payment is made, an acknowledgement for the payment received will be prompted. User can save / print it for future reference

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
1. Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
2. Enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly

1. Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

EligibilityEdit

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

ValidityEdit

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
