Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Permission from Police to Gift a Weapon, the applicant has to approach the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service – link
2. The applicant has to download the form from the following link – link
3. The applicant has to enter all the details in the application form.
4. Make sure that the applicant has to attach all the documents that are listed in “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Submit the form and the required documents to the DCP office.
6. Pay the fee as per the authority’s request.
7. The applicant will be called for a face-to-face interview with the chief inspectorate about the weapon and about the arm’s license of the applicant and the receiver.
8. And the application form and attached documents will be passed for verification to check if there is any deficiency.
9. After all the processes are completed, concerned officials will approve the application and proceed with granting permission to gift respective weapon.
10. Once the permission is granted, office will inform the applicant to collect it through any applicable means.

• Completed Application form
• ID Proof- Aadhar/ Voter id/ Driving license/ Passport id
• Proof for zero criminal records on both the applicant and the receiver
• Copy of Purchase details of the weapon
• Copy of the weapon manufacture details
• NOC from Tahseldar of your area
• Copy of Arm’s License of the applicant
• Copy of Arm’s License of the receiver of weapon
• Verification report
• No objection certificate ( if applicable)
• Sworn Affidavit by the applicant.
• Payment receipt

Eligibility

• Any person who has a zero criminal record can apply for the permission.
• Any person who wishes to gift a weapon can apply.
• Any person who has a valid arm’s license can apply.
• The person who receives the weapon as a gift should possess the valid arm’s license.
• The applicant should be the citizen of India.
