Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Marriage Incentive (Award) with Disabled Person, the applicant has to approach the State Social Welfare Department link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or it can be downloaded from the following link
3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
4. The applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
6. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
7. The fee for Marriage Incentive (Award) with Disabled Person is free of cost.
8. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
9. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
11. After completing the document verification, the state department will inform the tahsildar office for the site verification with the couple.
12. The couple has to visit on the date of the appointment for verification with the original proof documents.
13. Based on the outcome of the above report, recommendation, and other internal processing, the designated authority will grant the scheme amount to the applicant.
14. This entire process can be completed within 30 – 40 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Eligibility

Any person who is:

• Certified with a minimum of 40 percent disability
• Indian citizen
• The age of the girl in the couple should not be less than 18 years and not more than 45 years at the time of marriage.
• The person should not be an income taxpayer

• Under this Marriage incentive scheme, the disabled person will get the scheme amount incentive from the state social welfare department.

• In this scheme award, Rs. 15,000/- in the case of a young man with a disability, Rs. 20000/- in the case of a girl with a disability, and Rs. 35,000/- in the case of disability of both young man and girl is provided as an incentive.

Refund of incentive:

• In the event of divorce or dissolution of the marriage taking place within the period 3 (three) years to 5 (five) years calculated from the date of receipt of the first installment of the incentive (i.e. 10% of the incentive), the spouse (either husband or wife) without disability, shall be liable to refund 50% of the total amount as an arrear of land revenue within one year of the occurrence failing which the principal amount with annual the interest of 6.5% will be charged to him/her.
