Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for the Export certificate for Non-Fisheries Processed Goods, you have to submit your application to the Veterinary Service Division (VSD) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MOA)
  2. Obtain the application form for an export health certificate for the non-fisheries processed goods from the MOA’s office or download it from their website:Link (please search for “Application For Export Health Certificate” to locate the form easily) you can also download the form directly via this link:Link
  3. First, obtain all the necessary certificates and documents of the goods you wish to export, including the import permit from the importing country
  4. Complete the application form and attach all the supporting documents to it
  5. Then submit the complete application to the Permit Office, Veterinary Services Division (VSD) 193 Old Hope Road, in person or scanned and emailed to the following: Email: [email protected] or faxed to (876) 977-0885. Please note that TRN information is mandatory.
  6. The VSD will verify your application and check is from a registered facility and the facility is not registered, the VSD will reject your application and issue you a rejection notice
  7. If your facility is registered, the VSD will proceed with assessing the supporting documents and if the documents are incomplete, you will be notified with VSD to produce the required documents or information to complete your application
  8. Then the VSD will assign a government inspector to inspect your animals or birds and you will be notified of the inspection date and required to isolate the animals or birds to be exported.
  9. Then the VSD will determine if the goods require laboratory testing, if yes, the application will be forwarded to the VSD lab for verification of the batch conformity, samples will be taken from the goods and tested
  10. If the goods don’t pass the laboratory testing, your application will be rejected and you will be issued a rejection notice, however, if the goods pass the testing, the application will be forward to a supervising veterinary officer for final assessment
  11. The supervisor will confirm that your application meets all the required standards and approve it for the preparation of the health certificate
  12. You will then be issued the payment advisory note for the certificate and require to pay the fee
  13. Pay the application fee of the export health certificate at the VSD cashier by cash, debit, or credit card, company cheque, or manager’s cheque and obtain the payment receipt
  14. Upon payment, the export health certificate for Non-Fisheries Processed Goods will be prepared and issued to you

InstructionsEdit

  • An application for Export Health Certificate must be completed and submitted to the VSD in order to make an appointment for inspection for export. An appointment for inspection for export with the government veterinarian for all live animals is mandatory 48hrs before departure. All animals for export must be present for the scheduled appointment along with all supporting veterinary medical records from a private veterinarian licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Jamaica.
