- Proceed and order the importation of the barrel from abroad by air or ship.
- Once the Barrel has arrived in Jamaica, visit the shipping agent’s office and pay the handling or storage fees and obtain the payment receipt.
- Then obtain all the shipping documents of the barrel from the shipping agent.
- Prepare the rest of the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach them to the shipping documents.

Complete the form and attach your passport and tax registration number card to it.
- Visit the customs warehouse where the barrel is stored and present your documents to the security personnel and wait for your barrel to be located and brought to you.
- You will then be required to unpack the barrel for the customs officer to examine its content and if it is in order, the officer will direct you to the custom’s cashier to pay the duty fee.
- Make the payment and obtain a release order of your barrel.
- Take the release order to the warehouse operator for confirmation.
- The warehouse operator will verify your release order and issue you a gate pass allowing you to take your barrel out of the customs warehouse to its final destination.
