Procedure

Apply Online

1. The organization responsible for tax services and generation of Direct Funds Transfer (DFT) is the Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ). Please view TAJ contact details through this link: Link
2. To generate the DFT you will have to login to your TAJ e-service account (RAiS account) if you are a registered user or register and login via this link: Link and complete the online registration form providing all the required information including your Tax Registration Number (TRN) and then submit the complete application. You can also refer to wikiprocedure Jamaica - Apply for E-service Account (Tax Office) to view the process of creating the e-service account
3. Upon submission of the registration request, TAJ will assess it and your request will be processed.
4. You will then receive an email outlining the next steps to complete the Online Registration and your login details
5. Login to your RAiS account
6. Once in your account, select the “I Want To” hyperlink to open more option and then click on “Generate Payment Advice” to direct you to the introduction page
7. Read the information provided on the introduction page carefully and click on “next” to proceed
8. On the new page, your list of Tax Accounts is displayed with the respective balances shown.
9. Click on the “Payment amount”link for the Account on which payment is being made and then click on “Confirm” to go to the next page
10. Here, all periods and their balances are displayed. Select the “Payment type”for the period which you wish to pay.
11. Then enter the amount you want to pay if it does not match the amount displayed on the screen. However,if the amount matches, click on the “Balance” link and then confirm by clicking the“OK” button
12. You will then be directed to your accounts page where you will repeat step 8 and 9 for the payments you wish to add, then click on “Confirm”
13. Upon confirmation, you will be directed to the next page where the final intended payment information is shown, read the message and select the check box and click on “Submit” to proceed to the confirmation page
14. Read the confirmation details shown on the page including a confirmation number and instructions to view the payment advice containing the Direct Funds Transfer (DFT) Number and click on “OK” to close
15. Now to view the payment advice, click on “Correspondence” in the information bar and then choose “view letters” to be directed to the letters page
16. Here, a list of letters will be displayed. Click on “Payment Advice” from the list to display the Payment Advice.
17. Then the Payment advice is displayed with the Direct Funds Transfer Number shown which you can print and submit to the TAJ cashier
