Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for a Jamaican Entry Visa, you should visit the nearest Jamaican consulate to make your application, please see the consulates contact details through this link: Link
2. Contact the nearest embassy via telephone or email to determine if you need to book an appointment for your application since different embassies have different policies
3. If you need to book an appointment for your walk in application, to do so view the embassies website. Like in the case of the Consulate General of Jamaica New York City: Link
4. Book the appointment and obtain the Visa application form from the consulate in person or download it form their website You can also download the application forms directly form the links provided in the “Documents to Use” section below. Note: the form may look different form one embassy to another but the context may be the same.
5. Fill the application forms correctly then gather and attach all the required documents to the complete forms.
6. On the date of the appointment, visit the embassy and submit your complete application to the embassy service provider officer
7. The embassy official will check your application if has all the required document and if it is up to the required standard then the official will direct you to pay the application fees according to the embassy policy I.e. type of currency and form of payment
8. In some cases you will need to pay the application free prior to submitting you application Pay the recommended application fee and obtain the payment receipt.
9. Upon payment, the entry visa will be processed according to the type of visa you have applied and issued to you.
10. Note that you can also submit your application via a registered mail address, please consult with your consulate if they offer this kind of service if you are unable to apply in person

Required Documents

• Complete visa application form
• Copy of a valid passport
• Travel itinerary
• Letter from employer (for business purposes)
• Work Permit (if the applicant will be employed in Jamaica)
• Bank Statement (most recent) - Proof that sufficient funds are available for the visit
• Hotel booking confirmation (if staying in a hotel) or proof that adequate arrangements have been made for accommodation and maintenance during the visit

For those who are eligible to receive visas at the port of entry:

• Valid passport (validity to cover the period of travel to and from Jamaica);
• Return ticket with re-entry visa for persons who are not nationals of their present country of residence, or onward ticket with visa for another destination;
• Sufficient funds are required for the visit. Adequate arrangements have been made for accommodation and maintenance during the visit.
