Isle Of Man - Obtain Go Card
ProcedureEdit
- Most Go cards can be purchased online www.bus.im click link to go to the site - www.bus.im.
- When the page opens, click what type of service you are applying for.
- If you are buying a Go Card for the first time, you may need to register first.
- To buy a card you will need to choose what type of card you would like to buy. See 'Eligibility' section for types of Go Card available.
- After choosing which card you wish to purchase click 'NEXT.'
- On the next page you will need to provide all your personal details. Complete the online form, check the 'terms and condition' box and hit 'next.'
- Pay for the card.
- After completing your online application, your Go card will be mailed to you within 10 days.
- You can also submit your application in person at Ramsey Bus Station, Douglas Railway Station, the House of Manannan in Peel and Port Erin Station plus at the Welcome Centre in Douglas. All applicants need to complete an application form (form AGF) and submit it with a passport photo. Alternatively, photos for Go cards can be taken at the Welcome Centre for no additional charge.

EligibilityEdit
Types of Go Cards available:
- Go Explore / Go Explore Heritage - For sightseers, visitors. The card entitles the holder to unlimited travel on our scheduled bus and rail services for 1, 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days. They are also valid for travel on the Douglas Horse Trams when operating.
- Go Platinum - Annual cards, permitting unlimited travel on bus and/or rail services for providing one year's travel.
- Go School Cards - For children travelling between their home and IoM Government-run schools and college courses can travel for 40p per journey with a pre-paid Go smart travel card. Those travelling to school without a card or at other times will have to pay the standard fare. Note: The card can't be used as proof of ages to avail half fares outside of school journeys.
- Go Places - for passengers who travel regularly on the same route. Go Places cards are transferable and several people can travel on a single card, with one journey deducted for each person travelling. Two journeys are deducted for each person travelling on Hullad Oie/Night Owl services. Go Places cards are available for adults or children, with the discount applying for the advance purchase of 6 journeys against the standard single fare.
- Go Saver - unlimited travel on all bus vannin services for 1, 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days.

Go Explore / Go Explore Heritage:
They cost £2 plus:
- 1 Day : Adult - £17 Child - £8.50 Family - £41.50
- 3 Day : Adult - £34 Child - £17 Family - £80
- 5 Day : Adult - £41 Child - £20.50 Family - £100
- 7 Day : Adult - £50 Child - £25 Family - £122
- 5 Day Go Explore Heritage : Adult - £63 Child - £30
Note: A family card is for two adults and up to three children aged 5 to 15 years. Children under 5 travel free.
One day Go Explore paper tickets for adults and children can be purchased on boarding buses, trains and trams with no card fee.
Go Platinum - Annual cards
- Go Platinum Rail priced £75 for adults, £37.50 concessions (children or pensioners in possession of a Go Silver card)
- Go Platinum Steam or Electric cards cost £60 for adults, £30 concessions.
Note: A family annual rail card is also available. Two adults and up to three children aged 5 to 15 years can apply for a Go Platinum Rail family card, providing one year unlimited travel on all scheduled IoM Railways' services for £200. The family rate for Go Platinum Rail family steam or electric cards is £160.
- Go Platinum Bus - Adult cards cost £800.
- Go Platinum Reserve -Adult cards cost £880.
Go School Cards
- The minimum purchase online is £18: that is 40 x 40p journeys + £2 card activation.
- In person: minimum sale will be £10 which is £8 for 2 weeks' school travel plus £2 activation fee.
Go Places
- The initial card purchase will have a minimum of 12 journeys but when topping up the card you will be able to purchase in multiples of 6 journeys up to a maximum of 48 journeys.
Go Saver
They cost £2 plus:
- 1 Day : Adult - £7 Child - £3.50
- 3 Day : Adult - £16 Child - £8
- 5 Day : Adult - £19 Child - £9.50
- 7 Day : Adult - £23 Child - £11.50
ValidityEdit
- Go Explore cards are available for 1, 3, 5 or 7 days for adults and children.All Go Explore cards are valid for consecutive days from the day of first use. All Go Explore cards are valid for use on all IoM Transport railways and bus vannin services, excluding dining services. Half fare is payable on the premium Hullad Oie/Night Owl bus services.
- Go Platinum - Annual cards
- Go Platinum Rail cards are valid for one year. They provide unlimited travel on scheduled services of the Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway.
- Go Platinum Steam or Electric cards, includes both MER and Snaefell scheduled services.
- Go Platinum Bus cards permit unlimited travel on all bus vannin services including Hullad Oie/Night Owls.
- Go Platinum Reserve cards permit unlimited travel on all IoM Transport scheduled bus and rail services and scheduled horse tram services plus admission to Manx National Heritage sites for one year.
- Go Saver cards permit unlimited travel on all bus vannin services for 1, 3, 5 or 7 consecutive days. All Go Saver cards are valid for consecutive days from the day of first use.
