Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The beneficiary shall approach their respective Social Welfare Department office / social justice & empowerment / district deputy commissioner office in their area.
2. Contact Link AND the applicant shall also enquire at the local panchayat office to apply for the incentive Himachal Pradesh Municipality In the given page please select “Districts” option listed on the left part of the screen. A map will be provided. Please select the respective district map for respective portal. In the given page please select menu option “DIRECTORY” > “PUBLIC UTILITIES” > “Municipalities” AND “ABOUT DISTRICT” > “Who’s Who” for contact details
3. Go to the respective office and consult with the designated authority to know the applying procedure. Please collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.

5. Please complete the application form. Attach all the documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page (please get the recommendation of the officer concerned at the respective block/tahsil welfare office) and submit it to the designated authority.
6. Authorities will check the submitted application and documents to make sure that the applicant (couple) is eligible for the scheme and all the required documents are in place. If eligible and the documents are in place, the application will be accepted.
7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using computer. The applicant will be provided with a record number as acknowledgement for future reference.
8. The application will be processed further.
9. This incentive is sanctioned based on the details given in the application, local enquiry, facts and records produced.
10. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
11. The department authorities will do the ground level verification to clarify the application details and do the local enquiry to clarify the facts.
12. Based on the outcome of the verification, the department will forward the proposal with recommendation to the sanctioning body.
13. The sanctioning body will evaluate the case to sanction the incentive.
14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or as per the applicable norms.
15. If approved, the incentive will be credited in the applicant’s (widow) account as per applicable norms.
16. Usually there is no fee charged for this procedure.
17. The whole process can be completed within 15 days or as per the timeline with respect to the department’s work schedule and also based on the budget allotment.

2. In the given page, please select “Widow Re-Marriage” option from the list of services tab to get “Application for Widow Re-Marriage” page.
3. Here, please click on the “Sign Up” button to reach the “Register New User” page.
4. Please complete the prompts as appropriate. Upload the document as applicable. Please enter the captcha at the given space as appropriate and then click on the “Register” button band follow the on-screen information to complete the registration process.
5. The applicant shall visit the “Application for Widow Re-Marriage” page and click on the “Login To Apply” button to reach the “Login to Apply for Services” page.
6. Please enter the login credentials as appropriate. Enter the captcha at the given space as applicable and click on the “Submit” button to reach the dashboard page.
7. Please click on the “New Application” option to reach the online form page. Please complete the given section prompts as appropriate. Upload the applicable documents as appropriate and hit the respective tab to apply online.
8. Please keep the acknowledgement for future reference.
9. This application will be processed by the respective department as per how it will be processed in person.
10. Applicant will get notification about the status on his registered mobile number provided while applying.
11. Applicant shall follow the notification to obtain the incentive.

Eligibility

• The couple should be Indian citizens.
• Applicant should be the resident of the respective state for the advised time period.
• Remarried widows are eligible to apply.
• Under this scheme grant is sanctioned to Bonafide state domicile men and widow who are above the age of 21 years and 18 years respectively at the time of wedlock. Also the maximum age limit for the widow will be 50 years at the time of wedlock.
• The couple with marriage registration certificate are eligible to apply.
• The applicant shall apply within 6 months (in some states it is 12 months) or as per the period as applicable for the state from the date of marriage.
• Incentive will be provided only those who have applied within 6 months from the date of marriage or as per the timeline fixed by the respective state.

Fees

• There is no fee required for this service. Please follow the authority’s guidelines for any charges (if required).
• Non-judicial stamp paper (for 10 rupees or as per the advised amount) may be required.

Validity

• The couple will get the incentive for the application that they submitted. There is no validity with respect to the period.

Instructions

• If any widow re-marries, a cheque of Rs. 20,000/- is given to the women and a Fix Deposit worth Rs. 30,000/- for the 5 years term is given to the couple.
• This incentive is applicable for the widow remarriage only.
• Any wrongful identification and certification of beneficiaries shall attract severe disciplinary action against the concerned.
• Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get this incentive.
• Incomplete application will be rejected.
• Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
• Applicant will be penalized if any information provided by the applicant while applying for this incentive scheme is being found false or incorrect.

Need for the Document

• This scheme is aimed at encouraging widows to remarry a bachelor/widower by providing financial assistance to lead a normal life.
• The main objective of the scheme is to empower widow remarriage and rehabilitate widows by providing financial assistance.
• This scheme brings in new dimension of social change among the widows.

Information which might help

• No incentive is available on second or subsequent remarriage.
• The applicant shall make a complaint with the district collector/district social welfare officer/director, social welfare department in case of any discrepancy.
