ProcedureEdit

Passengers eligible under this category could avail concession in Second and Sleeper classes through the following procedure.
Apply In-Person

  1. To avail this service, the passenger has to directly visit the nearest Railway Station.
  2. District wise Railway Stations: Haryana
  3. On reaching the railway station, approach the ticket counter and procure the reservation form.
  4. Fill all the passenger details in the form such as name, age, gender and berth preference.
  5. On submitting the form, request for concession under “Widow of Ex-Servicemen" category.
  6. Provide the Identity card issued by Kendriya Sainik Board.
  7. Provide the required payment for the ticket.
  8. You will receive the train ticket with a unique PNR number.
  9. While travelling, make sure to carry your “I card issued by Kendriya Sainik Board” along with your Id proof for onboard verifications.

Note: This concession service does not have an online based procedure.

Apply Online:

  1. Visit the following portal: portal.
  2. Fill the details required in the page.
  3. Click on the “submit button”.
  4. Follow the notification address to avail the concession benefits.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following Link to locate the centre according to the respective district: Link.
  2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  3. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  4. The operator will process the application online.
  5. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
  6. Collect the acknowledgment slip after submitting the form.
  7. Use the acknowledgment slip to get the concession in a stipulated period of time.

    • Aadhar card
    • Voter photo identity card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Pan Card
    • The central/state government issued Photo Identity card
    • Nationalized Bank Pass Book with photographs
    • Credit Cards with laminated photograph
    • Photo identity cards having serial number

  • Any war widow or widows of Paramilitary personnel and other defense personnel killed in action against terrorists and extremists, I.P.K.F. Personnel killed in action in Sri Lanka and martyrs of Operation Vijay (in Kargil) with the “Identity card issued by “Kendriya Sainik Board” are eligible to avail this service.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Any war widow or widows of Paramilitary personnel and other defense personnel killed in action against terrorists and extremists, I.P.K.F. Personnel killed in action in Sri Lanka and martyrs of Operation Vijay (in Kargil) traveling on Indian trains can avail a concession of 75% in Second and Sleeper classes through this service.



Information which might helpEdit

  • Concession shall be admissible only in respect of basic fares. No concession is admissible in respect of other charges, viz. superfast surcharge, reservation fee, etc.
  • However, in cases where concession has been allowed in Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi trains, the concession shall be admissible in the total charges (including catering) of these trains.
