Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Suspend or Renewal of Registration with National Construction Authority in Ghana, the applicant must go to the ministry of works and housing or La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly office (LaNMMA). Contact link
2. An application for renewal of a registered construction firm with MWH should be submitted at least a month before the end of one year for which the permit remains valid.
3. Information related to the MWH office and the License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
4. Application form must obtain from the respective office.
5. Applicant must fill all the information in the application form.
6. Applicant should attach all the relevant documents need to be attached to the application before submission. Documents listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
7. A fee for this procedure is has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
8. Complete the application form must be submit to the MWH office along with the required documents.
9. A contractor shall submit a proof indicating construction works contracts completed by the applicant prior to an application for renewal.
10. The Board may make a decision regarding the category in which a construction firm may be registered, other than the one applied for by the firm on renewal.
11. The Authority shall notify the contractor in writing of such decision within 60 days after receiving the renewal application Form.
12. On suspension - If a person/firm/contractor or applicant who is aggrieved by the decision of the Board as in sub-regulation 6(3) in relation to the category the Authority has recommended, such person may submit in writing a petition indicating the reasons of such grievance, sufficient to justify review of the assessment by Authority.

Required Documents

• A copy of a valid National Identity card.
• A copy of a valid passport.
• Certificate of incorporation from the Registrar of companies either as a limited liability company, partnership or sole proprietorship.
• In case of a limited liability company, the Memorandum and Articles of Association is certified by the Registrar of companies.
• A resolution from the technical director who shall be authorized by the Board through Board resolution to take responsibility on all technical matters.
• The curriculum vitae for each Director / Partner.
• Provides the Authority with the PIN, VAT and Tax compliance.
• Provide evidence of existence of a bank account in the name of the construction company.
