Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To Obtain International Vaccination Certificate in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ghana Ministry of Health office (MOH) Contact link
2. The person needs to get the vaccination a minimum of 10days before travel, or else the boarding will be refused. This is because the vaccination needs to mature.
3. Applicants can get the vaccination from any ministry of health offices present in the border entry points, air ports and sea ports.
4. If applicants are a Ghanaian Citizen, applicant can get vaccination from public and private hospitals and clinic run by the government.
5. The vaccination takes few minutes once his/her get vaccinated a small yellow booklet will be provided vaccination certificate.
6. Applicant must make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
7. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. The International Vaccination Certificate must be kept next to your passport and other travel documents because it is the proof that you have to stick to all the travel requirements.
9. Vaccination certificate will be issued within a day.

Eligibility

• All visitors travelling from Ghana to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Mali, India and Ethiopia etc.

Fees

• FEE - RS.300/- FOR ONE VACCINE, fixed by Govt. of Ghana from time to time.

Validity

• Vaccination certificate is lifetime validity.

Instructions

• The vaccination is recommended for anyone above 9 months old.
• It is advisable that his/her should visit a clinic in your country, about six weeks before your flight to get the vaccination. If his/her are short of time, schedule the vaccination day ten days before the flight trip.

Need for the Document

• If the person is from a yellow fever endemic country, the Ghana government will require a yellow fever certificate from his/her before entering into the country.
• The "International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP)" (or "Yellow Card") is mainly required for proof of vaccination when going to or from countries that are at risk for Yellow Fever.
