Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Diamond Buying Agents License (Local) in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the precious minerals marketing company limited (PMMC) in Ghana link
2. Information related to the PMMC office and the License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Applicant can be obtained the application form from the respective office.
4. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
5. Applicant must make sure to carry all the necessary documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. An application should be accompanied by evidence sufficient to show that the applicant is in possession of, or commands, sufficient working capital to ensure that he can carry on the business that would be permitted under the diamond dealer's license.
8. The Cabinet Secretary, before issuing a license, require the applicant to provide security, by way of bond or cash deposit in the prescribed form as the Cabinet Secretary require, for the due payment of any prescribed fees or royalties which may become payable by such dealer in the course of his business under the law.
9. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

Need for the Document

• The Diamond Buying Agents are required by the holder/applicant in order to sell and buy diamond, otherwise, the dealing in diamond without this document is illegal and prohibited until the applicant obtain a Diamond Buying Agents permit.
