Apply In-Person:

  2. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  3. A fee for this procedure is Free of charge.
  4. Emergency numbers in Ghana and many parts of the world, usually take the form of 3-digit codes that can be easily memorized. Even though, some emergency contacts exceed 3 digits.
  5. There are 3 main departments that attend to emergency calls in Ghana. They are the fire service, police serviced and the ambulance service.
  6. Before the introduction of the universal emergency hotline 112, all these departments went with unique numbers.
  7. With the launch of 112, prez akufo addo has merged (standardized) the telephone contact of Ghana’s emergency service.
  8. Ghana is far from being the only country that has emergency services for its citizens.
  9. Do not hesitate to call on the services of the NAS by dialling 112 anytime you need an ambulance.
  10. The processing time for this procedure takes a few minutes.

  • To provide pre-hospital emergency care to accident victims (Road traffic, Domestic, Industrial, Medical etc.)
  • To transport accident victims from the scene of an incident to an appropriate health facility
  • To provide stand by emergency cover at mass public meetings and to liaise with other emergency services in time of disaster or mass casualty incidents.
  • To assist in the formulation and implementation of programmes for first respondents.
  • To identify, recruit and train cadres for the service.
  • To assist in establishment and operation of makeshift hospitals during mass casualty situations.
