Apply In-Person:

  1. Application form for Transit Visa in Ghana is available in the Ghana Immigration office contact link
  2. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form for transit visa.
  3. Applicant has to enter all information in the application form.
  4. Process all documents required for a transit visa in Ghana. Make sure the visa and ticket to continue to another destination are also processed.
  5. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents are necessary for completing this procedure.
  6. Please refer to the fees details in the “Fees” section of this page. Pay the appropriate fees where the officials would start processing your application.
  7. Completed application forms submit to the Ghana immigration office.
  8. If application form is verified, the notification regarding from visa will be sent to the applicant.
  9. Then, the applicant after seeing this notification, the applicant must go to the respective office and get their visa.
  10. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 5 working days.

  • Additional information
  • Minor children (under 18 years)
  • Proof of transit visa fee
  • Proof that you are allowed to enter the country of your final destination.
  • A letter which state the purpose of your visit to your final destination.
  • Evidence of that you will return to your home or another country after your stay in the US.
  • Vaccinations certificate

  • Applicant must be a person who intends to pass through Ghana to another country and he / she must satisfy relevant entry requirements.



FeesEdit

  • A Fee for this transit visa is 160$.



ValidityEdit

  • This visa is not extendable, nor renewable. The validity of the visa is 48 hours from entry into the UAE, and you must leave the UAE within 48 hours from arrival. To get a transit visa, you must have a passport or travel document with a minimum validity of three months.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • In Ghana a transit visa is issued to foreigners who wish to make a stopover in the country and continue to another within a period of forty eight (48) hours. It authorizes foreigners stay in the country for a short period of time and then proceeds to a third destination. As any other visa, the transit visa is also issued by the Ghanaian immigration service in the country and authorized agencies outside.

  • A transit visa is now required for travel to Ghana in all situations. In the past direct air side transit did not require a visa and in some cases a transit through Ghana to another country could be accomplished by obtaining a visa upon arrival in Ghana. This is no longer possible.
