Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Visa on Arrival in person, Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) office Contact link
2. The Applicant has to approach the Ghana Immigration Service center and the applicant can get their application form.
3. Fill out the application form and other relevant documents.
4. Applicants are strongly advised to read the attached privacy policy and to complete and sign the Consent Form. Prior to submitting the applicant application at the Ghana Embassy in the applicant’s home country.
5. If a completed and signed consent form is not included with the application, the applicant’s application will be rejected, and will be obligated to be returned to the applicant.
6. Pay Visa fees and biometric fees, if required, as per instructions in the application form fee schedule.
7. Visit the Ghana Embassy in the country of origin and make sure that the applicant brings the applicant's passport, photographs, completed application forms, and all supporting documents as per the checklist and application fee instrument. Applicable service charges will be levied. Pay permit fees and biometric fees, if required, as per instructions on the study Guidelines from the Visa Office or website.
8. If the applicants need to give the applicant biometrics, the Embassy will collect the applicant’s biometrics at the same time the applicant submits his/her application.
9. When applying at the Embassy, pay the service charges, submit a complete application and obtain a receipt. This receipt contains a unique tracking number which is important as it is required to track the progress of the application online.
10. Visas are processed within 30 working days of submission of applications.

• Application form
• Copy of the “Biodata Page” of the applicant’s Passport
• A valid Passport.
• Two recent passport photos.
• Passport copy (bio-data page) and not less than 6 months validity
• Vaccination certificate (yellow fever)
• Recent passport-size photograph
• Police Report for Spouse (If applicable)

Instructions

• Only Individual application is accepted by the Ghana Immigration Service centre. No bulk/batch application should be made.
• If the research permit applicant is a married person, then
• He / She must submit the Marriage Certificate
• Children’s Birth Certificate
• Police Report for Spouse
• Medical Reports for spouse and children (if applying for a permit)
• A completely filled application is only accepted.
